I got an itch, and so I compiled our offensive plays from scrimmage into a spreadsheet.

If you'd like a copy, PM.

Anyway...

You're the opposing DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR!

Bobcat's have the ball... 1st and 10...

WHAT DO YOU CALL?

RUN DEFENSE?
PASS DEFENSE?

If you said RUN, you'd be right 66% of the time.

Beau up the middle!!  It's the TRUTH!

I'm outta time for today, but I've got some interesting things you can see from the data.

No two games look the same.

It's clear that Coach Albin (I'm assuming it's him) is changing the way he calls a game based on the actual game itself.

You do, though, see patterns that are probably worth breaking.

When I can get all these bitmaps hosted, I'll share.

After the half, Les Miles says it is not the schemes or how you line up...it's finding guys who want to play or something to that effect.  I think it's true, pistol, shot gun, I , wish bone the key is guys who play hard every play.  I hope we have guys like that vs UMASS next week.

You're going to receive a PM from a person calling himself Marley Cholnar. He's going to deny being UMass' head football coach Charley Molnar. Whatever he says, whatever he promises you, do not give him this information.

If I'm UMass's DC, on the first play Friday I put 8 in the box then drop at least one into pass defense.  My guess is that we do play action with a deep ball to Cochran.  We started with that in about three games in Sept & Oct.

I agree with this completely.  Athletic ability has some bearing. Schemes do have some bearing. But desire is also a huge part, and something that has been sorely lacking the last few games.
