OK, Thanks for checking. I was wrong about Toledo. It was WMU that got the shaft. I knew it was somebody.

That's my point. As I recall, in one (or more) of those years, I think Toledo had the top billing but had to travel to Huntington anyway because of this agreement.

Edit: In fact, I think the Championship game was to be held in Huntington regardless of whether or not Marshall was in it.  [Emphasis mine]

That's what I said earlier.  Check my post.  It was part of the agreement for Marshall to come back in the MAC.  Rankings, etc., made no difference.

I don't believe you can call it being "hosed" when it was part of the agreement when Marshall came back into the MAC.  You might question the agreement, but it known by everyone from the start.  And, I'll have to say, the attendance was always quite good.  I attended several of the games myself.

I was clarifying that the agreement was not affected by Marshall's participation.

Yes, I needed clarification.  Thanks for supplying it, Mr. Fox.

At least you read my post!

Conference USA says that BCS rankings determine the home field advantage. Since neither team is in the Top 25, the commissioner "worked with Jerry Palm" to determine a different formula. Marshall is getting votes this week, so they have a higher BCS total, but they decided the new formula (which was crafted one day after the season finished) would not use the human polls in the calculation.

If CUSA had a formula for the tiebreaker, then they should just use it. There was no communication that they would change it later. That came about after the season was over. I don't really care one way or the other, but I have a lot of friends that went to MU and they are irate. I feel bad for them because they were psyched about going to the game Saturday and now will have to watch it at home.

Ohio didn't screw them by beating them this year. We screwed them by messing up the rest of our season and causing their strength of schedule to drop lower than Rice's. They also could have not given up a last play TD to MTSU, which was a far more expensive loss than the one in Athens.
