UMass fired its OC, John Bond, yesterday.  But Mass Live reports:

"Though UMass coach Charley Molnar said before the season that he would relinquish most of the team's play calling duties to his offensive coordinator, Bond had "not been actively calling plays" since the Minutemen's 24-14 loss to Maine on Sept. 7, according [to] the [Maroon] Musket."

Mass Live also notes that the UMass offense went from 12.7 ppg & 278 ypg in '12 to 11.7/281 in '13.

But if Bond hasn't been calling plays for the past 2+ months, shouldn't the guy calling the plays get canned?

With three years left on his contract, UMass can't afford to fire Molnar. Should have gone after the defensive side first though.
