This seems to be a theme that has come up a lot lately.  Just look at the stats for our rushing yards vs the opponents:

Offensive Rushing: 136
Defensive Rush Defense: 180

Until we get lines that own the LOS consistently we will not be an elite MAC team. Personally, I think OHIO has gotten away from that tough and nasty that I thought we were going toward.

I think BG (and the Buffs to an extent) have shown that in the MAC East it all starts on the defensive side of the ball.  Let's hope all the experience gained by the young linemen this season turns into dividends next year.

Your point about our line play is right on. This was the weakest link on both O & D this year.
If all the experience these underclassmen have gained can be coupled with fewer injuries next year we should field  a better team. This is even in light of a complete change over in our backfield. A great O line can benefit even an average QB and RB.
