The one thing everybody admired about Jim McKay was that no matter event he was covering, he always made it sound like it was the most important thing going on in the world.  I never heard anyone else make logrolling sound so exciting.  The guys doing our game for ESPN3 today are no Jim McKays.  Neither one sounded like he wanted to be there.  I know it's a holiday weekend and they probably wanted to be with family (or at least not in Athens, Ohio doing a game that had little bearing on anything in the world), but if you're drawing a paycheck, you should do your best.  I tried muting them and listening to Russ & Rob, but the time lag between their audio and the ESPN3 video was driving me nuts.

The play-by-play announcer was John Sanders (90% sure it's the same John Sanders who was the PBP on TV for the Indians when they were still on FSN), but yes, my jaw dropped after the way he called Beau's TD run that started off the game

The call by Keith Morrison...er....John Sanders on the first TD pass was one of the most nonchalant calls I've ever heard. Conversely, the announcer for the BG-Buffalo game seemed way too excited for one-yard tackles for loss.

Sanders is terrible. Always underprepared. Shocked he still gets work.

I thought they were UMass's guys at first. Once they started calling Beau- Boykin and vice versa I reached my limit and put on Rich and Rob even though they were about 10 seconds ahead of my video feed.

side note- I've got an idea for someone who wants to be the next internet millionaire-software that allows you see all of the audio broadcasting options for the video you are watching so you can chose to listen to the TV hosts, your local radio guys, the latin america guys, etc. and then sync the two broadcasts in real time to eliminate any delays.

They had done UMass's previous game, so they were more familiar with them.  But it showed that they didn't much homework on Ohio, which is a problem common among ESPN3 and even U on-air crews.

DUDE!!! I came up with this very same idea while on the phone with my dad yesterday. Sanders is so terrible he necessitates invention to eliminate him.
