...than this horrific team "earning" a bowl bid?!?!?!

http://tinyurl.com/oduyrqr

IF (and that's a big IF) Ohio beats UMass....they'll be 7-5 and in line for not just a bowl game.....but a pretty good one (not one of those awful MAC tie-in games like Little Caesar's/GMAC)

The Poinsettia Bowl would be awesome.....for any other Bobcat football than this one.  There is no way in holy hell this team deserves a bowl bid.

I can't think of anything that would ruin the holidays more than watching that Joke-For-A-Senior-Quarterback TT quit on national TV in a bowl game and embarrass the name across the front of his jersey.....AGAIN.

Enough is enough with this team.  I still deciding if I want to risk throwing up T'giving food by watching the game on Friday.

There have been so many more deserving teams come thru in the last few years to get a shot at a bowl game in San Diego.

This one doesn't deserve a shot at the Trimble Tomcats.

Am I wrong with this line of thinking?

I choose to believe that they are purposely losing these games in order to not have to go to one of the crappy MAC bowls.  Just like last season they tank down the stretch and get rewarded with a better bowl game than the other MAC teams (obviously the exception being NIU).

It would be worse if they killed off the dog in Family Guy. Thank goodness THAT will never happen.

The little boy from Van Buren Street believes this too; but the old man in Athens has to swallow a little harder and drink a little more green Kool-Aid.

[Note: This is written in a semi code.  MB will understand its meaning.  Of the rest of you, probably only Monroe will be able to figure it out.]

It would be embarrassing if this team gets a bowl bid and plays like they have so far this month.  I don't see how that would help recruiting AT ALL.  Last year, we had a bunch of physical injuries that caught up with us in November.  When people got healthy for the bowl game, we showed we were better than 8-4.  This year's problems are mental, not physical.  Unless the key people on the team get some group therapy, we'll keep on playing against better teams like we have the past three games.

Although there may have been more deserving teams in the past that got snubbed, the question this year is whether we get a bid instead of a team that's more deserving THIS YEAR.  Looking at the list of teams that we're likely to be chosen ahead of, I doubt that any of them is more deserving THIS YEAR.  They all have their warts, mostly from lack of talent; we have talent, it just doesn't show.  And they're all just as likely to get creamed by better competition.  A team that has talent can get past mental issues quickly.  But there's no quick cure for lack of talent.

I'm going to start/continue to be repetitive...because you love that about me and I'm right.

Our coaching/play-calling (all sides of the ball) is killing us.  Very predictable and unimaginative.  And I've got to think that brings the players down--who can be fired up by the bland vanilla that we do.

A quickie--jet sweep..uh, well, the fake jet sweep that NIU ran on one play last night.  Do we ever make the oppo prepare for a wide variety of stuff or do we ever catch them off guard?

For us to be getting trounced and underperforming so much because of faulty mental approach is shameful.

Spot on analysis.

I've been talking about that with fellow Bobcats.....while it's awesome Frank and his coaching staff have stayed intact for such a long time....it might also have it's downfall.  Complacency.

When this staff got here, the offense they were running was new, exciting and not many had seen it.  It was inventive and provided a lot to prepare for.

But as college football has evolved, every one is running the pistol now.  Hell, even the NFL uses it a lot.  It's not longer cutting edge.

I don't think Frank and his staff have started to evolve.  And the play-calling shows that.  This is the same tired nonsense they've been trotting out there for the last few years and teams have caught up to it.  It's time to either re-invent yourself or at least tweak things to remain ahead of the curve.

I can't be more thankful for where Frank has taken us....how he's resurrected a dormant program into a program that has gone to five-straight bowl games.  But I am getting the sense that maybe he's plateaued?  I want to keep progressing and become that team that repeatedly is sniffing the Top 25....or even ranked.  Competing for bigger bowls.  I hope Frank is the guy that can take us there.

I know it sounds greedy...but 8-4 Pizza Bowl seasons every year might start to get old (if not already)
