How far has Ohio's football program come in recent years?  Several measures provide evidence of the resurrection.  One is bowl appearances.

I was browsing through Phil Steele's college football guide and looking at bowl appearances by MAC  schools.  As near as I can determine, Ohio and Northern Illinois are the only MAC schools to have appeared in bowls 5 straight seasons.  2013 is the 5th straight for Ohio and the 6th straight for NIU.

From a post on the Ohio facebook page yesterday, there are 21 other teams with this distinction:

Florida State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, Boise State, Wisconsin, Alabama, BYU, Clemson, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Nebraska, NIU, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Stanford, Texas A&M

Now that's good company.
