I don't care.  I have the day off Monday and am watching every minute of it.  The hell with the nattering nabobs in the media.

On paper, the game looks like it should be a blowout in favor of ECU.

Fortunately, the game isn't played on paper.

Even tho we backed into a bowl, thanks to Sun Belt screwing over WKU, I'll be watching and cheering for the Bobcats.

It's too bad we aren't playing in the JM Smucker All Natural Peanut Butter Without Hydrogenated Oils Bowl.

Maybe there should be a bowl named for whatever blockbuster movie comes during the holidays in a given year.  The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Bowl has a ring to it.

One ring to rule them all in fact.

Wait, this bowl game is being played at 2pm on a Monday? What is the thinking behind that?

When I saw that I was confused as well.

The best argument I have been able to think up in my head is that they think a lot of people will have off work Monday and Tuesday. Saturday has a slew of Bowl games, Sunday has NFL and I believe Christmas Eve Tuesday also has a lot of bowl games. By making it on Monday they have no competition and I assume they think they can get people off work to watch. MNF excludes a later start Monday for this game?

Not sure if any of that is true but that was the most logical thinking I could come up with to explain the timing...

Ummm, good question. They are hoping people will watch replays on late night TV? They think a lot of people will have the whole week off? They think a lot of people will be watching it in stores in the TV department while their wives do last minute shopping?

Not much different than last year's Friday 2:00 PM time slot.  I'll be watching on my phone from my desk at work on Monday afternoon, same spot I watched last year's game.

ESPN doesn't want the game opposite the MNF game (Atl-SF) on the mothership.  They don't even have much college b-ball that night -- just Morehead-Tenn on ESPNU, but that'll be done around 9:00.  So we get an afternoon slot.

2:00 gametime is perfect for me.  I have a huge Christmas Party to go to at 6:30 on Monday, so I'll just duck out of the office for the afternoon to watch it.  All this time, I assumed I'd leave my wife on the dance floor while I watched the game at the bar.  Now, I'll just have to find a different lame excuse to leave her on the dance floor and drink gin in the bar with my friends.

No, really.

I don't even know what a Beef O'Brady is but I must assume that their target demograhic includes pre-schoolers, retirees, homemakers that have children napping and insomniacs who work the graveyard shift.  Did I miss anyone?

Come on Bob, the retirees that aren't napping at 2:00 are moonlighting one day a week as a starter at the golf course.  Rule out that demographic as being tuned in.

People recovering from surgery.  And those of us who can finally string a couple days off for something other than surgery.
