Better location this year. Awful (AWFUL!) time slot in the coveted Monday afternoon at 2 position.

Reposting from the other thread:

Our custom map of things to do & our favorite places in St. Pete

Hotel recommendations:

The Hollander
The Ponce de Leon
the downtown Hampton Inn & the downtown Hilton are good too, but you will have a more unique & historic experience at the Hollander or the Ponce.

The team hotel is likely out in Treasure Island, which has the advantage of being on the beach but the disadvantage of not being near anything interesting (see map) other than the New Orleans Beach Snoballs place. If you want to attend an event at Treasure Island, the $2.00 Central Avenue Trolley will take you there from anywhere downtown or near the Trop.

I imagine myself and a group of people will be walking from my house to the Trop at some point that Monday, if you'd like to avoid paying for parking there are plenty of places on the street here and you can walk over with us. Just contact me on PM for my address.

I'll keep an eye on this thread to answer any questions you have.

There is a Christmas boat parade along the inter coastal waterway surrounding Treasure Island on Saturday, December 20th.  I think it starts at 6 p.m.

Anyone in NE Ohio looking for cheap flights might want to check out Allegiant Air. They fly out of the Youngstown-Warren Regional airport in Vienna and directly into St. Petersburg-Clearwater (rather than Tampa). I can't go so I haven't looked at how the fares compare to flying out of Cleveland and into Tampa, but it might be worth checking out as an alternative.

EDIT: Looks like they also fly direct to St. Pete from Toledo and Columbus (Rickenbacker)

This place is a MUST!  My grandparents used to live in Tampa and we would go everytime we visited.  Not only do they have some of the best steaks and food (most of which is raised on their farm) I've ever had, you get to tour the kitchen, multi-million dollar wine collection, and get to cap off the night in your own personal booth in the dessert room.  Defnitely make a reservation.

I would temper this endorsement with the disclaimer that it is extremely expensive. You're basically paying for the tour of an ancient, historic, and amazingly well-run restaurant operation, and in a way that's worth it to do, once. My wife treated me to a Bern's trip a year ago and it was a neat experience, but I wouldn't say the food itself was worth the extreme priciness.

Plus it's all the way over in Tampa.

Also, is the Bobcat Bash info out yet? Do I need to just have people over to my house?

Given the dearth of posts in this thread and the fact I have received zero PMs and zero emails about this game, I am forced to conclude that nobody is coming.

Well, my dad and I will fly our green and white proudly. Hope we're on the camera side of the field.

Tim! I'm in a good sized group... I think we have 25 .. I've been to the Trop a bunch for baseball, I'm trying to remember the bar that's walking distance, has an outdoor patio I think.? I'm tying to find a close local place for our group to meet and distribute tickets, I'm assuming you don't want 25 of us actually coming over for coffee/ Monday am ? Looking forward to meeting fellow fans, my group is composed of Fl alumni and a crew driving down from Athens!

You are thinking of Ferg's sports bar and grill.  Great place.
