McCutcheon said Molnar has about three years remaining on this contract for approximately $836,000.

Man you can play a lot of golf on that.

UMass' expectations in this whole venture seem a bit out of perspective. Not because they fired their coach. They're horrible. It just seems like this move up was done sloppily and they thought they were going to flip the MAC for something with another bedroom and a walk-in closet really quickly.

Something seems odd about this thread title.

As for the termination, it doesn't really surprise me. Honestly they were better as an FCS school before hiring him and moving up. For example, in 2010 they lost to #20 Michigan 42-37,in Michigan, and they beat Maine. In 2009 they lost 21-17 at Kansas State, and beat New Hampshire.

Also, I think his game decisions, for example, at the end of the U.Mass-WMU game, hurt him. (He went for 2, trying to avoid OT. Normally at home you stick with the OT, and perhaps go for 2 on the road).

They can catch lightning in a bottle like any other MAC team and turn it around quickly.

But, I'm not optimistic until their stadium and facility issues are worked out.

They are in a tough spot in that the casual fan in the region is not impressed with the MAC and way more interested in pro sports.

This quote from UMass's chancellor speaks volumes: "Our program must foster a positive environment in which our student-athletes thrive both athletically and academically."  Given the video that surfaced earlier this season, where he had his players wrestling each other in the ice and snow last January, it looks like the issues with him were more than just his record.

Just two thoughts:

TOS to UMass.

Future endeavors.

That is all.  Carry on.
