Although he was only a coach on Frank's staff for a short stint, it is always nice to see former coaches and players get good opportunities like this.

Indeed he is the new coach as David Williams is intent on VU athletics being the "Stanford of the South."  Back to back 9-win seasons give the program great momentum for Mason to have a good go of it.  I live in the Nashville area and have VU season tickets...and I can assure you the Vandy fanbase is VERY happy with this hire.

The 3 assistant coaches he hired from Ohio will have to really hit the ground running on re-selling some of the recruits who have been wavering since "F" bolted to State Penn.

All 3 of them coached on same staff at New Mexico State I believe and came to Ohio together. Lighter and Gadowski were responsible for bringing Mason to Ohio.

I know there was a Vandy commit from my hometown (Middletown) that is now switching to PSU, following Franklin.
