Ohio gets three MAC West foes, including NIU at home and CMU and WMU on the road.

Is this a first for us?

In 2006, Ohio played NIU, WMU and EMU. I think that was before there were 7 teams (Temple joined in 2007) in the East.

Schedule predictions?

@ Kent State
@ Kentucky
@ Marshall
Idaho
Eastern Illinois
@WMU
Akron (Homecoming)
@ Miami
BG
Northern Illinois
@CMU
Buffalo

I could also see a bye between EIU and Akron, sliding WMU down later in the year.

Having BG or Northern Illinois seperate from Homecoming will be a huge attendance boost overall. They HAVE to do it this way or else they're wasting a marquee MAC opponent on a day when the stands will already be full.

I'm guessing based on the article re: opening at Kent that if BG or NIU are up for the Maction midweek games that they could be the last 2 games of the season? or at least one of them?

True...but what does the MAC care if we get a good crowd? They set the schedule...not us.

Also, the pattern is you get a Thanksgiving week game every other year. So I doubt that the last game of the year is at home.

I look for us to be at Kent the last week of the season.  The MAC scheduled it that way in '10 & '12.  I think our MACtion games will be Buffalo or BG at home Halloween weekend; NIU 11/6; @CMU 11/12; BG/Buffalo 11/18 or 19; @Kent 11/25 or 28.  But they could also slot Akron in there instead of BG or Buffalo, since Akron finished strong last year.  If we play before the Kentucky game, it will likely be @WMU.

Rumblings on the KSU board, echoed earlier in this thread as well,  that KSU will open the season at home on a Thurs. (Aug. 28?) vs. OU. I wonder when either team will announce the actual schedule.

My only hope is that Ohio plays all 11 of their games before October 10th.  That seems to be the time of year that we begin to watch a miserable decline.

Last time I checked, Ohio plays 12 games. Maybe if you & Swank stopped criticizing the O-Zone and pretending you're better than them, you'd realize that. But I realize that's too much to ask of you...

close, but the last game of the season alternates so it will be an away game. Miami maybe?

recently Ohio has been schedule for 4 November MACtion games, including the Black Friday game, I wonder with the opener at Kent on Thursday if we'll only have 3 November weeknight games this year. If so and @Miami is on Black Friday then that means its more likely the other 2 MACtion games will be home games to balance 2 hame 2 away.

Based on these factors, my guess is-

8/28 @Kent State (Thursday MACtion)
9/6 @Kentucky
9/13 @Marshall
9/20 Idaho
9/27 Eastern Illinois
10/4 BYE
10/11 @CMU/WMU
10/18 Akron (homecoming)
10/25 UB/BGSU
11/1 BYE
11/5 NIU (Wednesday MACtion)
11/12 UB/BGSU (Wednesday MACtion)
11/22 @CMU/WMU
11/28 @Miami (Black Friday MACtion)
