Perhaps there is no better definition of "spin" than watching this piece. What was the reason behind even making it?

I have no problem with Tyler as a person...and he did all the right things off the field. But his career ended with a whimper, and there's little to celebrate. Just seems odd to try to glorify him like the savior of Ohio Football.

Say what you want it is a very good video.  I think it captures TTs career at OHIO very well.  Like many on this board I sorta thought we were in for a lot more after 2011.  It's that what could have been.  I think as we look back on this we will realize TT just never had what he needed around him to keep that upward momentum but we will also be very thankful for where he took the program.  T

Bottom line:  thank you Tyler for a great career at OHIO and best wishes in your future endeavors.

Really?? You're going to complain about the Athletic Department's media arm putting out a highlight video for our graduating QB? Who is hands down the best OHIO QB (based on the numbers) in the living memory of the great majority of this board (apologies to the folks on here with memories that extend beyond my lifetime)?

I'm not saying the video isn't well done...it is. But it glorifies TT to be something he wasn't. Something about it just seems almost dishonest.

I think what bothers me most is that it ignores the elephant in the room: why did he regress so much? Was it an attitude problem like many of us postulated...or perhaps he just could not adjust to what defenses started to throw at him? We'll never know the answer, but that is what interests me the most. Not the fact that he beat out the likes of Bubba Lichtenberg, Kareem Wilson and Dan Jordan in some passing records.

Right, all of whom led us to winning records and bowl games.

I didn't have that take at all. The video does a great job of over viewing TT's career, the good and the disappointment. The important thing is, you're left remembering a great football player who managed great things for this team. And that's how TT should be remembered. He led this team to it's first bowl win. Then he added a second bowl win. Nothing that has happened since then will take that fact away.

Good video. Great player.

National headlines:  bcat2 agrees with something about the program.  Look up the definition of 'shill.'

It's a spin video so we can expect it to highlight the successes and gloss over the 9-10 record since the middle of '12.

I think we all can appreciate the good things T2 did for this program during his career here.  What the video did for me was to capsulize the change in T2 over the years.  The early part of the video showed the T2 that was so difficult to defend: a good solid passer who would take off out of the pocket and sprint upfield.  The latter part of the video showed mainly a throwing T2.  He wasn't the all-around player we saw earlier.  I think he definitely missed having LaVon as a target the last two years.  Donte's good, but LaVon is a bacon-saver for any QB.

Anyway, thanks for the memories T2.  Be well, be happy.

I know that some seem to be remembering here - the bad of TT, but in reality he has to be considered one of, if not the best QB's in history of Ohio football that dates back a long time.  Just look at all the records.  It seems we should have also complained when Gary Trent only took us to the NCAA one time and I'm not sure we won  the regular season that yr. either.

How many 40 pt losses to MAC teams with losing records did Gary Trent have?

In football? EVERY football game that Gary Trent played for OHIO was a 40 point loss

I just can't believe how probably the best QB in Ohio history can get beat up on here!  Re: Trent - I'm sure there were some very disappointing losses, especially in the MAC Tourney by teams, frequently as I remember it during a long time in that era, that we had handled easily in the regular season.  I remember many 1st round losses played at home!

Remember also, TT was not a 1st or 2nd team all-mac QB ever.  There were other teams and players better.  But he did a lot for us and is getting short changed because we didn't have the supporting cast the last 2 yrs. he had as a sophomore(1st yr as starter).  Give the kid a break! I only hope we can get someone to challenge what he accomplished as a "Bobcat".

I also don't see the point of beating him up on here. He did provide a lot of great moments, and yes, there were problems with the supporting cast. The offensive line in 2013 and the defense in 2013 both were not up to the usual Ohio standards. You can't lose by 40 if the defense is doing it's job. Let's hope 2014 is a great year.

You can't believe it? Go over to the basketball board where a number of people have gone out of their way to bash DJ Cooper (either outwardly or under the auspices of 'last year's seniors'), one of the greatest basketball players we'll ever see at this school.

It's not all the supporting class. You honestly don't think his game changed?? He was a very different player, and no one is really sure why.

Maybe one of the best would be a better description than one of the greatest.  Great people do something for the betterment of mankind.  Athletes play games and some of them are the best at it.

No doubt TT did some great things for the program.  I have heard several stories of not-so-great things behind the scenes and in the locker room during year 4…and leave it at that.  I think he and we are best served to move on at this point.

Click with Vick . . . I like it.

I appreciate TT for the many good things he did during his OHIO career.  I'm still scratching my head over some of the changes that transpired this past year.  But, I'm ready to move on.

Werner Herzog was not available to shoot the video you seem to be looking for; The tale of one man not quite living up to expectations of men sitting on bleachers wearing Wal-Mart windbreakers and what that means in the grander scheme of the universe.

The job of an athletic department is to take reality and spit-shine it to maximum glean.

Here's a reason why this video should exist, whether you like him or not. I wanted to find some film of Kalvin McRae, so I searched youtube. Surely something would come up. I looked for him by name, I looked for specific games. Finally I found him in the highlights from the 2005 victory over Pitt where he has two carries at about the 2:00 mark. Really? That's all we have on him? What a shame.

With this film, at least, 10 years from now, when someone wants to compare Ohio QB's of the past, they will have film of TT, and we know there is film of Cleve Bryant.
