Overall the turnover ratio will have the biggest effect on our W-L record this year

3rd down defense and 3rd and short offense. Looking for 3rd down playmakers on defense who make solid tackles and not arm tackle. We have 2 solid running backs in the short run game and hopefully we use Mason Williams in red zone more.

I think the key to a good season is that they improve each week. I have no clue how good they will be a the start, but I don't expect much. If they start out terrible, but end up a good MAC team, that will be a good season. If they start out OK, but finish strong, and win a Bowl Game, it will be a great season.

As far as specifics, I'm looking for a team with a lot of fire, that plays hard and doesn't give up. I'm looking for a team that makes a few good plays, and doesn't make too many major errors and give up easy TDs, and one that doesn't shoot themselves in the foot with turnovers.

Win, lose, or draw, I love good defense. I want to see our Bobcats win the respect of others by being both tough and relentless. With the existence of NIL making it impossible to know who got the best of this ongoing lottery, I would say that the rest is hard to Predict.

Good post. As I have said, a lot of turnover is now normal. What happened to Ohio is the offseason isn't normal. If we win a bowl game, that's at least 7 wins, and that is a good result and would give me a lot of confidence in the staff going forward. I hope we win more than that, and it is far from impossible, but I don't see a whole lot of reason for that to be my general expectation.

We didn't look great to start the season in 2022. Our defense improved a lot in the middle of the season. If Rourke hadn't torn is ACL then I think there is a pretty good chance we win the MAC. More than anything, I want a team that plays hard and gets better.

In the MAC, you either have a QB and an Oline or you don’t.

Hate to state the obvious here, but Parker has to play well.

The MAC likes to throw and we're gonna find ourselves in a lot of shoot-outs. Can we get ourselves back into it?

We can try to run as much as possible, but I think more often than not we're gonna find ourselves in a hole early. Bleeding the clock and praying for a turnover isn't gonna work this year.

My best quess is that we are going to do a lot more runing this year, with the coach's hint about two-back sets. We will still pass a good deal, but I think this will be a slightly more run-oriented offense than in the recent past. The success of this extra running will be the key to a winning season. Do we get one or two yards per carry or five or six?

Bingo. Passing game with inexperienced receivers will take time. We need the running game + solid TE blocking to open up some passes down field. Don't want to get in a shoot out with Syracuse. Keep McCord off the field as long as possible.

Both huge questions, but I do love seeing a bunch of 5th year seniors on the oline
