I am a fan of Vick as our QB in 2014. He will have to earn the job in Fall Camp, but I am looking forward to his performance in the Spring Game. I have noticed several positives in his performances in 2012 and 2013.

He seems to see the field well. He has poise in the pocket, he has a solid approach to his footwork and delivery. He has good speed and has been in our system a while.

So what are the areas in which he needs to gain maturity in the next 5 months? I only have noticed one area that I hope he can improve. That is his ability to shake off tacklers. It seems that once a defender get hold of him he is easy to bring down. Is it as simple as physical maturity along with weight gain and weight training?

I recall that TT became better at evading tackling during his Sophomore season. I think that may happen for Vick in 2014.

Vick speaking after practice. Black jersey means what? Are all QBs in black or just Vick?

Vick is going to have to be more durable than he's been.  He's been hurt as a back up QB not taking many shots in practice or games.

This is my only concern with him. Something about his running style seems to set him up to take big hits. If he can stay healthy, he'll do fine.

You mean like running up-right?

Exactly. It would also help if he would slide at the end of his runs.

If a defender gets a hand on him he can be pulled down pretty easily. He appears to weigh about 160-170 lbs. Upright running style does not help. I hope to see some improvement in the Spring Game providing he is not off limits to defenders.
