Nothin better than a topic with a Spaghetti Cowboy movie reference.

THE GOOD

The first time I saw the Spring Roster I was ready for a Richland Street bridge drive.

The last few days have seen some positive additions where I'm one leg over and one leg on.

#1

Cameron Wilson-WR-6'2"-200

An Iowa transfer from Dublin who could be our best receiver. At the least he should offer Cochran some relief from extra pressure. He had 10 receptions and a couple of td's at Iowa's spring game.

#2

Greg Windham-QB-6'2"210-QB

Not a transfer but some one that many said was off the team. A Florida QB gunslinger who had has his best WR a juco guy named Murray who should be coming to Ohio.

#3
Justin Haser-OL-6'6"-290-OL

Listed first as a DL...he is just athletic enough to provide some OL depth or maybe even start.....he played in the Ohio/Pennsylvania all star game so he has some stuff.

#4

Matt Green-6'2"-225-Kicker

I may get some boos on this one but I thought he was gone. Sure Yazdani is the guy...but what if something happens...if he's gone Amicone and Green fight it out....both are good....Green has the leg...just needs to get consistent.

#5

Brandon Payne-5'10"-225-RB

We have some decent Freshman RB's who will play....but we don't have an inside RB like Edmonds and Brown who can get that 3rd and 3 score. Payne played in in a decent conference in Dayton and has a great HUDL vid.

THE BAD

This one is extremely easy. Having 6 players who should have some pt in 2014 but they won't is extremely bad. O. I sat with Grady's family when he was a freshman .....a perfect OLB. Great family....what happened? Atwell was a great athlete from Virginia also at OLB...Both played and were Seniors ready to start. What happened?

OL hurts as well. Curtis and Welter were ready for some pt. What happened?

DE not so much.

Price and Bennett never played...so only 4 players were bad here.

THE UGLY

Where do I start.

To me the ugliest part is the questions surrounding the spring game.

We need this game for Vick and the OL.

But if the OL is hurt we could be in trouble.

The extra RB's look good.

Wilson from Iowa should shine.

Windham looks like a backup QB.

If not....ugly city.

Grady never fully recovered from injury. Spoke with one of the current OLmen he says they are a couple big bodies short but coach mentioned walk-ons and a few others. DL seems to be the strong point with a legit 8-9 man rotation says they all can play and will get better. WR are a TON of unknowns but lots of raw athletes there and in the secondary. Pretty much a clean slate for a lot of guys but it's Ohio it wont take long for them to get better.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it isn't something that will cause him difficulty outside football. Honestly I was hoping the reason he and Atwell and Teipel are gone was that they expected to graduate, a far better reason for leaving that injury.

Grady's family sat behind us during his first college game. We had a great time with his family...they were really fun people.

All those guys are graduating but I think Grady may play closer to home.

I expect Cochran, Wilson, and Landon Smith to be our top 3 receivers, but it will be great if two of Sebastian Smith, Reid, Rodriguez, and Wyatt break through this year.

I was just thinking we have 8-9 excellent pass rushing defensive linemen, but I hope to see marked improvement and emphasis in run defense this spring. I still have visions of that little white running back from CMU busting out 20-30 yard carries.

How about Cedric Brown?
