cleveland.cbslocal.com/2014/04/29/frank-solich-says-bridgewater-a-great-prospect-manziel-going-to-have-a-real-shot/

Two part interview.  Nothing earth shattering, but a few good tidbits about the new facilities upgrades in the works and some good press.  Solich seems very high on Basham at the very end of the interview. Also said that we have as many pro prospects on the team right now as we ever have had before.

Solich sounds relaxed, confident, and like he's still having fun. i also noted yet another mention about the great enthusiasm this team showed during Spring practice.

Thanks for posting the link.

I think Basham could end up a 1st-3rd round pick if he keeps working.

Thanks for that link, too. These are great interviews. Solich seems relaxed and confident, especially about the defense, and about the overall team level of excitement for the upcoming season.

The facility info was revealing. Frank said they had a lead donor already for the Academic Center to be built in the North Endzone of Peden Stadium and the project was on the move. SBH leaked info about that last fall and then when naming rights to the stadium were announced it was earmarked for academics. Earmarked more specifically for the new academic center. It sounds like the time horizon for the center has pushed forward from 4-5 years to 1-2 with groundbreaking possible after the season. Frank also said the locker room project will finally get done this summer and his new pet project is sprucing up the weight room with graphics to match other areas of the stadium. It was asked how much longer he wants to coach and from the sound of it he wants to at least see through all the upgrades and then some.

I saw the full color sketch of the academic center and it is very impressive.  It really blends well with Peden and combined with the new IPF it will really help in recruiting for all sports.

I expected something top notch. A few questions. How tall is it relative to the seats in the end zone? There was talk of seats around the center and where would they go? Does it completely fill in the gap in the end zone? Do you know anything about the timeframe for it?

I saw the drawing, but it was a quick glance of maybe 10 or 15 seconds. The drawing I saw was from the outside of the stadium as if I was standing where the baseball field used to be.  The structure was two levels, maybe three and was rounded to match the contour of the end-zone seating sections.  The structure is brick with lots of tinted windows and appeared to fill in most of the space between the two sections of seats.  It gives the stadium a very finished look and should help balance out the fact the IFP is so big next to the stadium as it is now.  It should help retain some of the crowd noise within the stadium for our advantage.  I did not see the side of the structure within the stadium but I would assume the design would allow for some type of utilization during game day activities.

Amazing. Exactly how I visualized it with a lot of glass to match the academic buildings on campus. This puts to rest the idea of bulldozing that endzone and starting over as some have suggested.

Would it add any seats on the stadium side of the building, perhaps a few indoor boxes for deluxe seating?

Why do I have a feeling this going to be yet another architectural abomination that will make the stadium look even more awkward?
