Congrats to Dan, and thanks for some great years of service here at Ohio!  It's amazing to see the giant steps forward the marketing department took under his direction.

Dan was very, very good for Ohio athletics. He deserves a ton of credit for increasing trends in attendance, merchandise sales, and overall visibility over the last half decade. He will certainly be missed.

News travels fast.  The family just announced publicly on FB a little while ago.  What a great family, I am glad he gets a chance to be closer to home.

Very happy for him. He will be missed at Ohio. It'll be interesting to see what he does at High Point.

From The Post article
"Recently, he has also headed the search for naming rights to The Convo and the field at Peden Stadium.

He said he will continue that role until July 1 to finish projects he’s currently completing with Director of Athletics Jim Schaus."

Maybe I am reading too much into this, but it sounds to me like that is the best timeline we have heard publicly yet on the renaming project...

Or it could just be that State budgets in most all states run from 7/1 to 6/30 and he's filling his contract (which is year to year), while waiting on his new job to start.

Either way, Mr. Houser has served Ohio University very well. Thank you!

That's true for OU - contracts run from July 1 to June 30 but High Point is a private institution and one that is very very well funded.  They plan to spend $2 billion over the next 10 years.

Or maybe High Point Universities current AD's contract runs to 6/30/14 before he takes his new position as Director of the American Baseball Coaches Association on 7/1/14. Side note the old AD and Dan worked together at Wake Forest before both took their respective jobs with their current employer. Vthat being said, dont hold your breath on finishing the naming rights of Peden or the Convo based on a press release.
