I'm sure he was rehabbing. He had a season ending injury late in the year in 2012 that required surgery, as I recall, so he probably wasn't ready to play by the beginning of 2013, so it would have been too late for him to earn his way onto a team.

He had a tryout in Kansas City last year but wasn't signed.

He had spent the last year putting his engineering degree to work.
