Now that he's chosen to play for a program I hate, I have no choice but to root for him to fail.

You have no choice but to root for him to fail? Your location is "Ohio"? I didn't know there was a town called Ohio in Russia, China, or another country where there are actual guidelines on what you're allowed to believe or wish for...

There is a town in Ohio called Russia, though. They pronounce it Roo-shee.

Because apparently, I'll wildly speculate, they feared being perceived as nephews and nieces of Uncle Joe Stalin.

Consider that I have often seen the term "Evil Empire" used on this board to describe OSU. How many people, when watching Star Wars, when Anakin went to the dark side, thought "Well, that choice makes sense. He got a better offer, and he can become more of an icon working for the Empire than he ever could being just some small time Jedi...

WHERE WAS THE SPOILER ALERT!?

I almost commented since I am from the town of Russia.  All 500 or so people live there.  My 89 year old mother still lives there and we visited two weeks ago.  The area was settled by soldiers from Napolean's army and when they arrived in the winter, it reminded them of the country of Russia.  So the French pronunciation is Rooshe not how we pronounce the country.  The next two town's to the west are Versailles (Ver  sales) and Frenchtown..  My last name is Peltier.  I call myself Pel tear while my brother goes by Pel tee ae.  So much for western Ohio history.

That's really cool. I always marvel at the great teams and athletes that little town produces. It's always fun to watch a basketball game  there, too.

I refuse to believe we would have "no chance" at the son of one of our coaches.  I don't care if the kid is the top recruit in the country, chances are still north of 0.

Andrew: do you acknowledge that some kids just wouldn't want to play for their father's team, or would absolutely NOT want to go to their hometown college? (even if its as truly awesome a place at OHIO). I don't know if that was a factor here or not, but its quite possible that he didn't want to go to college 5 minutes away from Mom & Dad.

I never said it was impossible that he didn't want to play for his Dad, all I said was our chances were more than 0.  I just take issue with the people who act like we are idiots for even discussing where our coach's son would play his college ball.

Fwiw, it appears as though the OSU staff is very pleased with Burrow's performance in recent camps.  Enough so, that they've reportedly stopped recruiting their previous top QB target.  It's very possible Burrow is the only QB they take in this class.

That's not what the Plain Dealer implied today when they talked about recruiting.  They appear to still be after their #1 target from Florida and maybe an alternate from California.

So why do we keep talking about an OSU commit?
