Get 3 MAC wins and it puts you ahead of 5 MAC teams on the year.

Looks like at least one prognosticator thinks after 9 years the glamor of the FS hire has worn off.  I really hope this service is wrong but I have some serious concerns this year.  I am afraid a bunch of the East teams have caught up and passed us by.  Don't get me wrong, I am ok with where we have been the last 9 years...I've seen a lot worse from Ohio.  But, we have just been unable to distance ourselves from the MAC brethern and for the life of me with what Ohio hasto offer, I just don't get why that hasn't happened.

Oh well, hope springs eternal at this time of year, let's prove this guy wrong with our play on the field!

I get the BG prediction at 50%, but Akron at 21% seems a bit too high. They haven't made that many strides forward have they?

They went 5-7 last year and seriously threatened at Michigan. They have a good QB. Could be good.

I am not expecting us to be a good team in 2014. There is just too much inexperience and too little depth on offense to have me confident. I am petrified about what our offensive line will be like. Our starters are decent, but take a look at our returning scholarship players after those five: Nick Gibbons had a major leg injury in the spring and Zach Murdock is a redshirt freshman who weighs under 270 lbs. Aside from those who graduated, we lost Curtis, Welter, Smith, and Haser. If our bad luck with offensive line health issues continues, there is a strong chance most of our true freshman and walk-ons will be in the regular rotation. A .500 season or worse is very possible, but I think if we do some nice things and improve over the year, I expect 2015 to be one of Frank's very best seasons at Ohio.

They threatened at Michigan because Michigan was a joke last year. UConn almost beat Michigan and they were awful. I know it takes a lot to get up for a game in the Big House, but let's not make it seem like Michigan was world beaters last year.

In fairness, this is the lowest pick for Ohio. Lindy's has them 4th, but most people are picking Ohio in the 2-3 range. Here's the consensus. Yes, Virginia, Akron is the consensus pick for 2d.

I guess they use computer simulations, which are only as good as the data being fed in.  Games are played on the field, by people; not in circuit boards, by data.
