First, the players drafted:
Buffalo - Khalil Mack to Raiders, Round 1 pick 5
NIU - SS Jimmie Ward to 49ers, Round 1 pick 30
Kent St - RB Dri Archer to Steelers, Round 3 pick 33
Ball State - DE Jonathon Newsome to Colts, Round 5 pick 26

Ohio- CB Travis Carrie to Raiders, Round 7 pick 4
U.Mass. - TE Robert Blanchflower to Steelers, Round 7, pick 15
NIU - DT Ken Bishop to Cowboys, Round 7 pick 36

Then using the UFA list from NFL.com and from SB Nation, we have free agent deals for:
NIU - QB Jordan Lynch to the Bears, LB Joe Windsor to Cowboys, Anthony Wells to Bears
Toledo - RB David Fluellen to Philadelphia, LB Jayrone Elliot to the Packers, OC Zac Kerin to Minnesota, WR Bernard Reedy to Atlanta
Ball State - WR Willie Snead to the Browns
BG - TE Alex Bayer to the Rams, TE Tyler Beck to Pats, DT Jairus Cambell to Ravens
Ohio - WR Donte Foster to Minnesota
Kent St - DT Roosevelt Nix to Atlanta, CB Darius Polk to Colts
Buffalo - WR Alex Neutz to the Bengals, DB Derek Brim to Bills, RB Brandon Oliver to Colts, CB Najia Johnson to Steelers
Akron - OL Jarrod Pughsley to Dallas
U. Mass - OL Anthony Dima to Browns
CMU - RB Zurlon Tipton to Colts, S Avery Cunningham to Rams
EMU - S Mycal Swaim to Tampa Bay
Miami - DT Austin Brown to Texans
WMU - none

I show the following people as having mini-camp tryouts::
Ohio - RB Ryan Boykin Saints, OT Ryan McGrath Saints, Blankenship to Jacksonville, Prior to Detroit
BG - DB Aaron Foster Cowboys, S Boo-Boo Gates to Titans, CB Cam Truss to Steelers, DT Ted Ouellet to Packers
CMU - OT Jake Olson to Lions
EMU - DE Kalonji Kashama to Lions
Buffalo - OL Jason Carlson to Bears, DE Colby Way to Bills
Ball State - Zane Fakes to Browns
U.Mass - DT Galen Clemons to Tampa Bay
Toledo - FS Ross Madison to Redskins

Total players with NFL deals, either drafted or as UFA
           Drafted     UFA   Minicamp Tryout  Total
Buffalo       1         4         2             7
BG            0         3         4             7
Ohio          1         2         3             6
NIU           2         3         0             5
Toledo        0         5         0             5
Ball State    2         1         1             4
Kent          1         2         0             3
CMU           0         2         1             3
U. Mass       1         1         1             3
EMU           0         1         1             2
Akron         0         1         0             1
Miami         0         1         0             1
WMU           0         0         0             0

I updated this, but I make no guarantees of accuracy. New agreements are signed all the time, and even when there is an announcement, you can't always be sure who is a free agent actually under contract, and who has just been invited to try out at a mini-camp. I did remove Toledo QB Terrance Owens who had previously been announced as a UFA to the Steelers, but who apparently wasn't able to come to terms. I'm sure he'll likely end up somewhere, at least with a camp tryout.

One thing you can see from this table is who lost the most talent. In the East, Buffalo and BG both lost a lot of talent, so things may even up a bit. Akron, who was 4-4, lost very little, so they may move up. In the West, NIU, Ball State, and Toledo were pretty close last year, and all lost a fair number of good players, so things will likely continue to be very competitive in the West. CMU lost less, so they may be competitive as well.

So far Blankenship and Toledo's Ross Madison have earned UFA agreements from their tryouts.

SB Nation also shows (I'm not sure how accurate this is; they have OT Andu Pulu of EMU listed for Seattle but it's really DL Andru Pulu of Eastern Washington):

OL Anthony Dima, UMass -- Browns
LB Joe Windsor, Northern Illinois-- Cowboys
RB Zurlon Tipton, Central Michigan -- Colts
TE Tyler Beck, Bowling Green -- Pats
QB Terrance Owens, Toledo -- Steelers
TE Alex Bayer, Bowling Green -- Rams

Ryan Boykin's Twitter feed says he's headed to New Orleans. Not clear whether it's for tryout or UDFA deal.

Interesting that Jordan Lynch is joining the Bears as a RB, not a QB. And he says it wasn't even a tough decision.

http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/10920172/heisma...

Compare that to Tim Tebow, who refused to switch positions, and found himself out of league. I hope Lynch sticks around.

Eric Crouch was another that refused to switch. Contrast that with Kordell Stewart who did play other positions as needed, and eventually got to play QB, or with Scott Frost, who switched to Safety. I wish Lynch good luck, and hope he makes the team. Once he makes the team, perhaps his chance will come to play some QB, perhaps not.

One of only two signed out of their rookie camp. Very good. One more step.

A lot of the mini-camps were held Friday-Saturday-Sunday, so we should hear results from them tomorrow.
Toledo FS Ross Madison earned a UFA deal after a tryout with the Redskins.
Bucaneers results are out, too, and they did not keep U Mass DT Galen Clemons.

Also of note, this was the first time in 10 years that two MAC players were drafted in the first round (Big Ben and WMU LB Jason Babin in 2004).

Detroit signs one after minicamp tryouts, DT Gregory Hickman. Thompson, of course, was already signed as a UFA, but Prior was there for a tryout. Neither Boykin nor McGrath were signed after mini-camp, either. They odds are really stacked against the tryout guys.

I know it's o-t and it's just my distant impression, but Nick Swisher strikes me as a not very intelligent guy.  Considering his school background...

Does Swisher have a brain at all?  In the 14 inning loss to Yankees, he came up in about the 12th with one out and bases full and did what he does:  swung as hard as he can on every swing with no apparent plan, no regard for circumstances.  Struck out.       Tonight, nobody out and first and second--same thing...huge swing strike out.  Then hits homer to give Tribe lead next time up.  When you're hitting Mendoza and it's only your 8th dinger 90 games into the season, you'd think you'd re-assess.  Total knucklehead.  I'd cut him immediately.  There's got to be someone better than this total pull-hitter, huge swinging, strikes out a ton rockhead.

Now that Lebron's Decision 2 is over with, I am shifting my full attention for Monroe post watch #5,000. Only one more to go!!!   Will it be basketball, football, recruiting, or maybe some random topic totally off the radar...........the suspense builds.
