The SMU coach says the "have-not" conferences should move their games to the
spring, just like the third-rate pro league USFL did back in the '80s. If he wasn't blind-stinkin' drunk when he said it, the guy's a friggin' moron. Nobody wants to watch football in the spring because they're footballed out from having NFL and college games from August til Feb. I went to a USFL game in DC one June (free tix from one of the owners) and there were about 17 people there. Moving to the spring would cause "have-not" schools' programs to go bust decades quicker than keeping them in the fall. If it's such a great idea, let's move the "haves" to the spring. SMU should reconsider paying this dope.
