Glad to have Aaron and I'm especially glad he's not an Aussie golfer as I first thought when I read this.

His stats show that he has 113 receptions in three year's of play for Nevada, for 1277 yards and 9 TDs. He'll add some experience to a young group of receivers.

DOB is Dec 1990. Aaron is all grown up. He has been on the field vs top competition. In high school he was a 25 ft long jumper. Another sign of Ohio's commitment to a balanced offense. But, if Aaron comes in on ship the recruiting class will be even smaller. So, will he come in on ship?

He has to be a graduate transfer. Redshirted in 2010 and played the next three years. That shouldn't affect the next recruiting class. Good pickup. Veteran receiver should be a weapon for Vick.

I agree, he has to be a grad student, perhaps for the sports management program. Presumably he has 1 to play 1, like Talbert, last year.

Bradley was suspended at Nevada for a violation of team rules and chose to transfer instead of facing the discipline. Not exactly the way I enjoy seeing us add players to our team. We also added Wilson who decided to transfer from Iowa last year after an off-field issue too.

I imagine most things that are considered "violations of team rules" that are not huge deals are things that 75-90% of college students do at college.

True but many of 75-90% of college students doing what they want when they want aren't student-athletes. Student-athletes on teams can't do half the things you or I wanted to do in college on any given night. They have certain obligations and rules to follow for being part of a team that do not apply to those who aren't in their shoes. That's just part of the conditions that come along with being on a scholarship as a varsity athlete. I have no idea what Bradley did but I'm just not a fan of scooping up guys from other schools who were dismissed or fled punishment. I have no problems with transfers but I do question situations like this. I think Ohio is better than that.

I couldn't do half the things I wanted to do on any given night. That's really not the best standard to judge things by.

Let's not split hairs here, we're all smart enough to understand and acknowledge there are certain things that non-student athletes want, can and do do - that are legal - that student-athletes can't do because of team rules or policies.

If he were a normal transfer, he'd have to sit out a year, and then because of the 5-year rule, would have no eligibility left. He graduated in May, however..

That he has graduated in four years with an athletes load puts some bonus ++++ on his side of the balance sheet. Welcome aboard Aaron.

Not a big fan of scooping up miscreants, but I think graduating on time is a very positive sign about his character. Also, James Ward was on staff at Nevada for three of his four years there and probably, maybe, perhaps, knows more about him than any of us.

He actually took 4 1/2 years to graduate, it seems. His profile says he was a grayshirt, so he was not enrolled in college in fall 2009, but was around for spring practice in 2010 and then redshirted during the 2010 season. He played in 2011, 12 and 13 and graduate after spring 2014 semester. Either way, he earned a degree and did so in a way that he earned eligibility to play for Ohio this fall, so that's a good thing.

Paul Myberg suggested in his football countdown that Bradley probably would have been Nevada's No. 1 receiver after being what appears to be the No. 3 guy the last two years. Another wide receiver also left the program.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2014/06/11/nev.../

Also, a good thing is that he's played in all but four games for Nevada over the past three years, so he's been pretty healthy. Hopefully he's over whatever his off-the-field issue was, no matter how big or small.

Two transfer wide outs from pretty decent programs has me wondering...what is the deal with all the recruited players at that position?  Just curious...

Yes, we have a lot of receivers who are sophomores or younger. They are what they are: inexperienced MAC players. Bradley is favorable due to his productive experience. Wilson is favorable because he was on scholarship in the Big 10.

Coach Ward is the connection and yes he is a graduate getting to enjoy his well deserved senior year..looks more like a linebacker but a blazer with Lber strength and elite ball skills. Spoke with an insider and Aaron if "used right by the OC" is 100 percent the game breaker WR that the Offense needs

I hope it went like this.

Aaron Bradley: "Coach Dixon, do you need any WRs next fall?"
Coach Dixon: "Aaron, do you block?"

WR Recruits by year:
2010 - RSr - Chase Cochran, Brandon Atwell (ended up at LB, now graduated)
2011 - Sr - Landon Smith
2012 - R.So - Malik Rodriguez, Jordan Reid
2013 - R- Fr/So - Sebastian Smith (moved to 2013 from 2012 due to injury), Justin Wyatt, Cedric Brown, Brendon Cope
2014 - True Fr -Robbie Walker, Tyler Jones, Andrew Meyer, Herman Brunis, Chek Wahington (or he may be on defense)

All of them but Cochran and Landon Smith are underclassmen, so there is kind of an experience gap, but I still think that the future looks very bright. With all these young, inexperienced players, play at the WR position should improve a lot as the season goes on.

Seems like one of the most deeply discussed transfers here since one Phil Bates.  I hope he's close to the athlete that Bates is and that the coaching staff figures out how to use him effectively.

No one has emerged from that group and shown they can really play all are still young so the jury is still out. I think the transfers are guys that can step in a be a threat right now while the others continue to develop.

I would agree, but I expect that the time is now, and some of those young guys will begin to emerge this fall.

Just noticing a ton of WRs on the roster, but he's not one of them. I hope that doesn't mean he's not with the team after all.
