Now the field will be as drab as their performance on it.

The turf is designed to look like the empty parking lots around the stadium?

Am I the only one who doesn't hate this? I think the Grey will make the green stand out better. I think it will look pretty sweet.

No kidding.

I think they're trying to use gray more to differentiate themselves from Michigan State, but IMO its a lost cause.

No. I'm with you. It might turn out really well.

Certainly it will look better than blue, but I thought the NCAA said no more colored fields?

I've always thought it'd be interesting to see someone go with white or black turf.

Good move by the EMU administration. At some point, going other with turf other than green becomes overused. EMU will never reach the point where anything is overused. Open up the playbook in Ypsilanti: Grey turf, war eagle, touchdown jesus, script EMU, blast jump around and zombie nation back to back. All of that and maybe EMU will be able to run the hook and ladder or statue of liberty in a meaningful game.

I think its high time that we get on this bandwagon: I DEMAND a GREEN and WHITE field in Peden Stadium next year!! If this doesn't happen, I organize a Love-style Halloween walkout.

No, and in fact, the NCAA last year shot down a rule that would have banned teams from wearing uniforms that were all the same color as the field. Coaches had complained that Boise State had an advantage when it wore all blue on its blue field.

Me, three.  Like!

See related, "We'll play on glass, in a parking lot, anytime"..   quote from our HC friend there.

I'm with the DFC, I think this will look good. I'm still waiting for someone to get a black field.

Regarding the proposed field color rule:

It'll blend well with the empty seats in the stands.

No kidding.
The really bad thing about that picture is that it is the home side.

There can be no doubt that this will cause EMU to go undefeated and to get all of the best high school players to enroll.

I think it will look just fine and get them attention that their performance has not.  It don't have an issue with it.

Should be Centrum Silver Field. Or Just for Men Touch of Grey Field. They've missed an advertising opportunity.

EMU should go to all chairback seats with cupholders. Reduce capacity with the wider seats to about 20,000. Make the seats green with white and gray seats speckled in to look like people. Think New Orleans Superdome here. At least then there is a remote chance of having a sell out.

Getting black or white turf would be sick. Don't know if black would be possible because of the heat though.

Could the new turf be the reason Rob Bolden chose EMU?
