Heard from a friend of mine who does stuff for WOUB, Reagan Williams had received offers from Ohio & Kent State, took part in a Penn State camp and saw Louisville during our loss to them last season. Father played OL at Capital.

His father might be the one that manages Hibbett's in town.

What a wonderful opportunity.  Once in a lifetime.

And to think he might get to play Pac 12 football to boot.

Funny how he gets a different reception than Joey Burrow.

As myself and others stated on here, the issue is merely where he chose to go. If he went to Iowa, we wouldn't care. But going to a certain school 70 miles up the road is a complete slap in the face. I'd rather he go to Miami or Marshall to be honest.

Why do you think it's funny? Has Stanford sued Ohio? Is there active dislike here for Stanford that I'm not aware of?

Eh, what allegiance does Burrow have to Ohio University? This isn't Ron Lewis transferring from BG to Ohio State. So what his dad is a coach here. He was offered a tremendous opportunity to play at one of the most tradition-rich programs in the country whose degrees carry a lot of weight. I can't fault him for that.

Do I hope Ohio State loses every game? Yes. Do I care if Joe is the starter in those games? Nope, but he chose the program that offered him the most of whatever was important to him.

My point isn't whether the different in reaction is right or wrong; I'm just saying that the difference is not surprising, and was to be expected.

As a rule, there are 5 schools playing FBS-level football that I have no problem losing a recruit to under any circumstance: the three service academies, Stanford, and Northwestern. Generally, I'm OK losing them to Duke and Vanderbilt too. IMO, if you get into any of those schools, you should go there.

Yes, although I have "reformed", as a 7-Year Old Rex Kern was my idol and Stanford Upset Ohio State in the 1971 Rose Bowl ruining Ohio State's perfect record and my life as a 7-Year Old.

Athens vs. Jackson and OSU can't come close to Stanford academically.
