Will be traveling to this one but don't have anything planned yet once I get there. Anyone ever been to Lexington and have suggestions?

I'm going with a coworker UK alum and season ticket holder. I have never been to a UK game. It is only about a two hour drive for us.

Hit up Sonny's BBQ, and ask for the all-you-can-eat ribs. It's not on the menu, but it's worth it.

Lexington, Kentucky is not exactly the center of world cuisine excellence, and it depends on what you like, but here are some ideas: Blue Door Smokehouse or Red State for BBQ; Carson's Food and Drink for Casual Dinning; Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken for Fried Chicken; Bad Wolf Burgers for Burgers and Fries; Goodfellas Pizzeria for Pizza; and Kentucky Native Cafe for both its ambience and good healthy food, which is actually located in an outside cafe inside a plant nursery (how cool is that). I would link up with YELP and check out the pictures of the food, the menu, and the reviews to see if the place resonates with you. I find that the more reviews that one finds on a restaurant on Yelp, the more accurate of a picture that you can get of a restaurant. Of course, you can always catch staff on a bad day and, sometimes, the best cooks are on vacation, but you should be able to determine those dining establisments with consistency from those that are not. Bon appetite.

Gus's Chicken is out of Memphis. Very hot and spicy but totally different than the Nashville Hot from a place like Hattie B's or Prince's.

At least the last time I had Gus's (15 years ago?) it was delicious.
You mileage may vary.
