For the sake of the conference, I hope it's a clean MAC sweep on Thursday. Definitely possible. WMU might keep it interesting for a while Friday but Wisky has too much beef and depth. The last three games listed seem to be the best chance for Saturday victories.
I have no idea what to expect from the Cats against Syracuse but I am keeping my expectations low with so much roster turnover going against a P5 on the road.
Don't be surprised if the MAC drops a couple of the 1AA games this week. Lafayette is coming off a 9-3 season, so Buffalo is likely to have its hands full. Fordham might not be as good as it was a couple years ago, but they were a decent 6-5 last year and BG always seems to have trouble with the other subdivision. And NIU just about always struggles against the other directional Illinois teams.
I have no expectations for the Cats this season. Even though we smothered GaSo with many of the players we now have, there's been so much churn on both sides of the ball and in the coaching staff that it's hard to get a handle on how we are. It could be 2021 all over again or something better. As for this week, I'll just be happy if we make a game of it by being within ten pts in the 4th quarter.
