The Giants have released their first depth chart of training camp and Eric is listed as third-string center.  It might not mean much.  But then again I saw where the Giants have beefed up the O line, so center may be his best shot at the roster.

Not a good sign early for making the team. Few teams carry 3 Centers.

Agree, but playing multiple positions is a bonus in the NFL.

The Giants message board had a thread dedicated to picking the first two combatants in a scuffle during summer practice and the first person picked Eric. This poster has always talked up Eric.

Extra bonus if he can learn to long-snap as well.

Looks like NYG starting RB David Wilson is out again with a neck issue after running into the back of OL Eric Herman...thats football but this sucks for all parties involved.

Halftime of Giants Game, I imagine Eric (#62) will get some snaps in the second half.

I haven't seen Herman in yet, but Landon Cohen is doing great! Had a sack in the third quarter and a good tackle on a run. Fourth quarter he had a 5 yard tackle for loss and a couple plays later ran down the RB on the outside to make a tackle for another TFL (this one about 5 or 6 yards and they might have called it an assisted tackle, but he was definitely the one who caused it). Very happy for him. He seems to be getting off the line very quickly!

Final line for Landon: 4 tackles, 3 solos, 2 for loss.  The knock on him throughout his NFL career has been on pass rushing.  He wasn't credited with any QB hits last night, but I did see him pressure the QB a few times.  His work was against 2nd and 3rd stringers, but if he keeps this going he could get a spot with the Bills.  Al Michaels mentioned him several times.

The neck issue (burner) turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

According to the news out here, when the doctors examined Wilson they found out his spinal stenosis was at a point where if he kept playing he risked paralysis.

He decided walking was more important then football and retired.
