When I read all of the Messengers articles this summer there is always a section about players being held out of practices yet no specifics as to what each players personal situation is. I show 12 players in this category.
Can anyone help clarify?

Some, like Carpenter and Gibbons are still recovering from surgery or spring injuries, and perhaps not quite ready for contact yet. Others may have minor injuries. I note that many of them are dressing, but just not participating, a sign they are close to ready. Also, some are participating in non-contact drills, but not in contact. So far the only serious ones officially reported were Schany, who was declared medically ineligible, and has left the program, and Stephens, a Freshman walkon DL. Bobcatblitz also gave us unofficial word that Wood is out for the season.

As for everyone else, I'm hoping they will be back ready soon.

My #1 concern is the TE position. Ohio's best teams have had very good TE's that challenge defenses. Some Ohio fans think our decline the last couple of seasons started when Tyler had that injury. I believe the decline started when Jordan Thompson fell to injury in that Homecoming game in 2012. Wasn't the next game on the road against Miami where they upset a Top 25 Bobcat team? Without a world class OL Ohio needs strong TE's.

Good go know that OUr offense can definitely move said ball if we don't get our defense on....which should also be a lesson to OUr dee-fense that it ain't proved nothing despite all the hope and talk.

#1 concern should be an offensive line that would start 2 true freshman on the right side. Just no depth. Hoping Gibbons can get back and the Wood injury isn't as bad as we think. Not sure whist the injury to Watson is but he is really important to the right side. I was impressed with him last season.
I was curious with the issues at tight end if Casey Sayles may jump across to the offense like last fall camp.

Seems the frosh would have to be good to play ahead of Seth Everhart. So let us see how it all pans out.
