L.C. Thanks

The added info about per attempt is important. Also the drop by White would not usually be reported and had he caught it Vick's numbers would have been even better. The key is who stands out.

Nothing said of injuries--very good.   The video shows, and Coach's remarks allude to, talent on the field.  There's sufficient qb ability on this squad.  Don't want the qb's running too much (were sacks taken as run attempts?).

#36 is my favorite Bobcat. Be so pleased when Big Ben is able to add his $0.02.

Brown, Davis, Smart shaken up. Hope they are back today.

From what Arkley said, Basham might have been the star of the day: 2 sacks, blowing by blockers, I'm getting excited for the season.

This defensive line really has me pumped.

Beyond the obvious star in Basham, Crutcher is just a massive individual and really occupies blockers on the interior. We also have more depth on the line than I recall in years, especially at the end spots. Coming in Sayles was one of the most hyped players in his recruiting class and now we also have Basham and Laseak coming back as sophomores starters at end in that same class. With so many capable players, we should be able to really keep guys fresh/dominate by cycling them in/out.

Or our O-Line isn't good enough. He was working against freshmen on both of those sacks I think.

That's what makes me nervous about intra-squad scrimmages.

Doesn't concern me too much that 3rd stringers are being beat by a guy who was on the Freshman All-American team.....albeit Lowery could move up to second at RT.

Speaking of excited....Dorian Brown has looked super in OUr scrimmages....I predict even though listed as 3rd string that he could carry much of the RB load.

Couple this with weapons like Irons and Papi  and Walker who can break  a long one at anytime and one has reason to be excited. I know Papi dropped a potential TD during the scrimmage  but Irons and Walker had multiple catches for good yardage.....their YAC figures could be off the charts this year.

As far as the scrimmage goes I was glad to see Vick do well.....he's my pick to start and hopefully won't give it up.

With an offense that will improve as weeks go along, its great to know we have a solid defense that will always keep us in games. Also, as time goes on we will find out the players that will step up. I think Dorian Brown, and Robbie Walker are going to be the breakout players on offense. It will be interesting to see how they spread the carries between all the RB's.

I only was able to see a small portion of the scrimmage, but Brown's stiff arm on a run play was awesome. He is going to be fun to watch. On the defense, speed is beginning to show up. We covered the flats a lot better than in the past. I hope that continues to show up during the season.

Good to hear the speed is on and that the flats are covered.  But didn't we cover them pretty well until the cloud of the last 15 or so games, haven't we generally covered them well?

Wanna see Basham bash 'em on the running game, too.

I feel better about the season after looking at the stats put up there by L.C. Notice that both White and Irons were tested in the running and passing game. That says to me not to expect redshirts for either of these guys. In one of the practice videos Solich said that Vick hasn't played his way out of a #1 position by what he has done so far at camp and that JD Sprague and Windham have to become more consistent if they want the job. Duckworth looks to need a redshirt. one of the skill players have quit the team this year another good sign.

Pardon?

I think he was referring to the departure of Leffingwell, and interpreting that to mean that the position is solid.

I thought it was just a typo..."None of the skill players have quit the team this year another good sign.
