Normally, I don't like Marshall losing good recruits, but this one is an exception:

Was that "unacceptable" in Huntington?

of course, a few Marshall fans have responded with predictable hilarity. Here's some of the more entertaining quotes from their board-

"He had a visit here this weekend. He probably bumped into AJL, McManus, or Davonte Allen and got spooked."

"that has to be it. I don't recall us ever having a kid visit then turn around and back out. The visit has always seemed to secure the deal. It could be as you say, or something else such as getting first hand info on how tight the ship is run, you have to be a total team guy to be here, etc."

"He will ikely see the field much quicker at Ohio than here. Cant blame a kid for wanting playing time."

lol, don't ever change Marshall fans, you are perfect just the way you are.

Actually I expected a different response from them. I figured we would hear "well, we didn't really want him anyway".

As I said on the recruiting thread, I hope he turns out as well as the last receiver to flip to Ohio from another school, which would be Taylor Price, who flipped from Akron.

Maybe he just wanted to touch the bell.  Can't blame him for that.

I wonder who ATHENSHERDFAN is in that thread.  He's obviously not a graduate of the J-school!

+1    good to see our friends in Columbus don't have exclusive rights to the term  "delusional fan base."

I tried going to the Marshall fan page by clicking the link, but my internet security told me that it was an infected link. Even my security program knows Marshall is bad.

Coaches told him to reopen his recruitment for whats its worth. And thats straight from the top. Ill leave it at that.

Seems like a good kid, wish him the best.

Pretty rough on a recruit to pull offer after commitment, but if that's the way marshall rolls, that's okay with me

Also very likely untrue.  How insecure the folks are in Herdestan.  Gotta troll other teams' sites to beat their chests and invent excuses that have come "right from the top."  Right.

To me once an offer is made and accepted, even though it is not technically binding, you have a deal, and you should stand behind it, outside of some major revelation. Therefore, I read goherd25's statement as "Marshall's coaches are untrustworthy scum". I have no idea whether that is true or not, but either way it's certainly a tacky thing to say about his own school.

I think he decomitted from Marshall after seeing the new uniform he would have to wear. Good Lawd those are ugly. And check out the players' faces, they look like they just got punk'd. lol.

Based on the looks on their faces, it's too bad they didn't keep these under wraps, and then reveal them to the team right before they took the field against Ohio. I don't think that the reaction would have been like this.

I love that #60 looks like he had to have some extra fabric added to his to cover his belly.

On another note, Marshall just announced a one for one football series with North Carolina State in 2017 and 2018. Hopefully Ohio can get a similar series with an ACC school.

Eah. #60 is one of the best centers in college football and an NFL draft pick after this season so he can havr all the fabric he wants.

And i look forward to getting revenge on nc state for those games the refs stole back in the early 90s. 14 point lead erased in 2 minutes. Gave them 3 chances at the 2 pt conversion as well with late flags. Was unbelievable.

On that one, goherd, Bobcat fans can empathize.
