After all the spring and fall camp work has now been completed and having read all the press I am posting my thoughts for the upcoming season,
1) It seems the press has forgotten the injury situation these past 2 years and it's impact on the team. They have tended to talk and reference lack of leadership, reliance on talent to get the W, as well as the expectation that the team felt they were better then their opponent and therefore just needed to show up and they would get the W. Well I for 1 believe that the injury situation does have a debilitating affect on a team and that was the major cause for our poor record in Nov. these past 2 years.
2) With less talent returning in the skill positions on the O it would make sense to believe we will struggle, at least in the early part of the year.
3) The D looks impressive.
4) Special teams also looks great.
Overall Assessment
:
The if's
1) If the hunger the team talks about is deep routed and not just words we will have a successful season
2) If the team stays healthy we will have success
3) If the coaching staff stays on the team like they did during fall camp we will have success.
4) If the leaders on this team show leadership during the ruff patches in games and the season we will have success.
I believe in this team and their ability to have the kind of season we all would like to see.
