...If a RS Freshman with NO GAME EXPERIENCE is going to start for us, then we should be hearing that he is DOMINATING practice and scrimmages. Or, at least, we should get SOME MENTION that this guy is really good. Is that too much to ask? Am I insane?...
OK, here you go. Arkley, in his blog was asked by Schaus which of the wide receivers he thought have stood out in practice. Summarizing Arkley's answers:
1. Herman Brunis - This true freshman always hustled, and made at least one eye-catching play per practice
2. Landon Smith - Is a handful over the middle
3. Aaron Bradley - playing inside or out, he looked good
4. Brandon Cope - While he opened eyes in Spring practice, he has been hampered by injury, but has looked good in limited action, and has done an excellent job blocking on the perimeter
5. Jordan Reid - has looked good from the slot, on post routes
I'm sure Cochran will also be in the mix. Honestly, if none of these six could play, and Ohio went with Sebastian Smith, Cedric Brown, Justin Wyatt, Ian Dixon, Kawmae Sawyer, and Randy Stites, I think they would be fine. The quality and depth at WR this year is remarkable, though the players are young. Of the top 9 or so receivers, 6 are underclassmen, so WR will be solid for quite awhile.
