BC fan here... seen maleek play a couple of times. very good player.



is he on active roster today? game 1 of season.... redshirting?



thanks in advance!..... FYI, no stats for him so far but only half way through second quarter.

I believe he is active but they are going to try to redshirt him if possible.

He looked good in the pre-season scrimmages, but they haven't played him yet, and he may redshirt. At this point nothing is set in stone.

ok, thanks.......... as much as guys want to get on the field ASAP i think redshirting is good for all players development.


i forgot that active vs. redshirt is not mutually exclusive (or maybe the opposite)... 


i remember reading that beemer at VT had to put a safety in as QB because he promised michael vick and his family that he'd redshirt.


at the other end of things, i think redshirts have been burned on one play total (or can you appeal that type of situation?) when a top QB comes out injured for one play.

If he plays one play, it burns the redshirt, unless he gets hurt later. If you get hurt before you have played in something like 1/3 of the games, you get a medical redshirt.
