That is Ohio State and the team they are playing is Navy. Do you really expect anything different?

Yes, a little respect.  Last year Notre Dame barely beat Navy with some last second heroics.  The final score was 38-34.  O$U is without their star QB in this game and just a tad bit of humility on the part of their fans would be refreshing, if not expected.

Last year Notre Dame was a bad football team.

Umm, no they weren't. They were 9-4, and somwhere between 25-30 in the country. They weren't Top 10, but they were certainly not "bad"..

In any case, the point spread for the OSU-Navy game stands at 13.5, so yes, saying "we should win my 35, easy" would qualify as arrogant.

I remember hearing O$U fans say the same thing about Ohio before the '08 game.  I think that's their standard line about any opponent.

You guys really need to stop having an inferiority complex, it is like I am reading my FIU board. I know you are jealous that Ohio State is nationally respected in athletics and acedmics, you just need to stop. Navy is Navy, I dont care if Ohio State lost their starting QB, their backup and maybe their third string is better than Navys starter. I think 35 is certainly possible, if not expected.

That's the wrong question. The right question is that, if he really believes OSU will likely win by more than 35, why isn't he at his bookie betting the farm at only +13 1/2?

Notre Dame with their name will always be 25-30-ish. Their schedule was weak and they are no where close to being the Notre Dame of old.

+1, some of these guys need to quit looking over the stall at the urinal, because they are developing insecurities.

Ignorance is ignorance and trying to defend an ignorant statement like "OSU should beat Navy by 35pts, easy" by accusing others of being jealous of that ignorant person is just plain ignorant.

FIU is is just a university in Miami, that started football 12 years ago and is in a better conference (Conference USA, not great but still better than the MAC) has a better stadium (even though not great still better than Ohio U) and overall well past where we should be as a university since we only started in 1965 and has a top 10 enrollment.

I am most likely starting my MBA at Ohio U in January (as I am eventually moving to Ohio), and it just is sad that you guys have not gone further. First of all, FIU started so late in the (and is so young as a university) we are stuck with a name such as Florida International University. We did not have the opportunity to obtain the top two state names, such as University of ........ or (insert school name here) University. For a university that has been around so long, I am just surprised that you are not much higher up academically and, I just googled, and you started football in 1894? Come on.

The FIU fan forum has the same jealousy toward the University of Miami that you guys have for Ohio State, the only difference is we started in 1965 as a university and started football in 2002, while Ohio University should be more established and far along that Ohio State does not get to you.

Well first it is Ohio University, or Ohio. Not Ohio U.

FIU guy: You need a history lesson.  I don't have time right now to give it to you so I'll leave that to my Bobcat brothers and sisters on this board.  However, I'll start off by telling you that you insulted at least half the members of this board by referring to us as "Ohio U" and not referring to that school up north as "Ohio State U."

No insult intended, but, if I just said Ohio then how would anyone realize if I am referring to Ohio University or the state of Ohio? Ohio State, just like Florida State does not need the university after it.

I sense the FIU guy is just baiting everyone at this point.  Good tactic to get responses on another school's board, but still baiting nonetheless.

(ps - you do realize this is an "Ohio" board, so we'd probably wouldn't mistake our own school name)

Mr. FIU states that we are jealous that OSWho is more nationally recognized for its academics, but then tells us that he is starting an MBA here shortly... So are you actually an idiot, or what?

To say FIU is greater than Ohio in football is laughable at best, I think someone is still living in the FIU 2009 and 2010 season.

No, Ohio University is starting a part time MBA program in downdown Cleveland, they are starting a partnership with University Hospital in Cleveland and I am moving to Cleveland. Networking and alumni is great to have. I also never said we are better than Ohio University in football, I just mentioned we are in a better conference and have better facilities. We are absolutely horrible as a football team right now. A university that has been around since the 1800's and has had a football program since the 1800's and on top of that has one of the two most favorable names for a state university, I am just surprised you are not more far along.

I am actually rooting for you guys as I will be associated with the school soon.

this is the dumbest thing I've read in a really long time. Please tell you're just trolling and aren't so stupid that you can't even make a proper analogy.

Part of it was being a wise a$$. Obviously on this forum you do not need to say Ohio University, but it is true that no matter where you go you can just say Ohio State or Florida State without adding university after

You're comparing the names of schools that have the word state in their name to a school that doesn't. It makes no sense. The analogy you're struggling to make is comparing Ohio to Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Texas, etc. Its so painful to see someone that can't even troll properly.

I beg you, if you do get a degree from Ohio, please don't tell anyone.

Your telling me, that if someone asks where did you get a degree from and that person stated "Michigan" they would have to say university before? No. Just like Indiana.

While you push "Ohio" for some reason over the many years Ohio University has not arrived to just be called Ohio. Hate to tell you, but, that picture of Will Ferrell with "Ohio" on his chest is just a generic sweater to act a part of a university student, it has no relation to Ohio University. The colors are not even right.

Lastly, this all started with Ohio State jealousy. Why be obsessed over that school? Concentrate more on turning Ohio University into a better university than be jealous over a school that has already made it.
