What a WONDERFUL win. And somewhat of a gift after fumbling 4 times. Jeez.

Thought Vick looked fantastic. 18-24 tonight. Decision making was damn impressive. Flashed some speed when he needed to. Also we won this game in the trenches BIG TIME. The OL looked strong and the DL was causing problems.

Really happy with what we saw tonight, for the most part. Obviously the fumbles were maddening. Don't know if Daz should get too many carries in traffic in between the tackles. He looked good though. Also was surprised to see so much Papi White.

Heart Attack Cats.  Great defense and they proved they can move the ball on the ground and in the air. The fumbles will be cleaned up and if not they proved they have quality backs if one does not cut it. I do like Patterson, but he must be able to hold onto the ball. He carries it too loosely when he makes his cuts. However, great tenacity on the defense and a good win for the Cats to start the season 1-0 and 1-0 in the division.

team looked great against a MAC opponent on the road. Cut the fumbles and we are a scary team. Vick looked as cool and comfortable as any Ohio QB ever tonight.

How about Ouellette? Stepped up to the challenge LATE in the game as a Freshman. Great job.

and, they grew up a lot today. There is nothing like a little adversity to test the mettle of a young team, and it didn't faze them at all.

Great team win by overcoming self inflicted adversity. Make the RB's sleep with the ball this week. Enough said.

What a horrible experience getting into Dix Stadium. I respect law enforcement, but the highway patrol, local police and sheriffs brought their "B" game and were like the Keystone cops. They were incapable of managing Summit Drive. There were tons of spots at the stadium for $5. Instead, they were tryng to divert traffic to free lots with shuttles that just were trapped in traffic. We left Ray's Place a full hour before kickouff, but got there AFTER the kickoff.

Tickets were $25 each! I don't think I've ever paid that for a walkup at OU. (Yea, I know, I should have ordered them through OU) I'll leave a full MONTH before kickoff next time we play at Kent.

I do want to give some praise to #52 (true freshman) Jake Pruehs who started and frankly dominated at RG. I've expressed my view that Jake would be a difference maker at OU and he has delivered. He's only 18, but the fact he played at a premier HS program (St. Edward) had him ready for MAC play. Go Bobcats!

Hey Sean:

How big was the Bobcat crowd tonight? How was the Marching and were they received well by the crowd?

I was impressed with the receivers, Vick made great decisions with 0 int's and some decent runs when needed (something we did not have last year). The defense looked very good against the run especially. For sure you can't turn the ball over four straight times and continue to expect to win. All of those fumbles came on drives that had momentum to result in points. I saw a lot of hard hitting and good tackling tonight. I think this is a good nucleus, and this team will be very successful. Penalties were very few for us as well. Good win - a lot of heart - we'll improve from here. ESPN3 feed was terrible for me. It kept freezing and repeating - not pleased. Finally, just turned it off and listened to Russ.

Anytime you can win after doing your damnedest to lose is a great win.  We should've had 20-30 pts on the board without the fumbles.  We knew the D would carry the team for the first few games, but they put out a stellar effort.  And the offense showed a lot of heart on that last drive.  This could be a fun year.

That was the largest turnout I've ever seen at Dix Stadium.  Their student section was close to full and they were into the game pretty much the whole way through.  We had a good turnout and the band was great.  Relieved the fumbles didn't ruin the night.

PS. They serve beer!

First enjoyable, though nail biting, trip to Kent in several years. Ouellette gave us a real spark in the last drive. Frankie obviously wanted to run the ball down the field and count on Yazdani's leg. And he made it with 10 yards to spare into the wind, though it had died down from the 1st half. He had the benefit of a "practice' kick on Kent's 2nd time out and he made that one too. D-line was dominant. They all deserve game balls. Vick managed the game well, threw well when needed and broke off a couple of nice runs. Only big downsides were the fumbles (but maybe 5'7" 177 lb. Dez up the middle all night might not be the best strategy. Kinda reminded me of the old days in Cleveland with "Metcalf up the middle.") and some coverage problems by the d-backs especially Bass it seemed. No complains though. They overcame everything and came away with a W and we left happy. And oh yeah, the 110 was the . . . 110. 'Nuff said.

Said the same thing to my friends (not the beer part). I never saw anywhere near that number of people at a game there and the student section, usually sparsely filled, was packed. And, I hate to bring this up, but most stayed for the whole game. But it might have been because it's impossible to walk uptown from the stadium. Who's idea was it to put the stadium about as far away from campus as it possibly could be? Guess they didn't need the land for farming anymore.

What a beautiful evening.  The announcer mentioned a partnership between the two college Presidents at the coin toss.  I bet one of the "partnerships" will be to request the MAC schedulers to have OHIO be Kent's home opener every other year.

Big OHIO crowd, huge KSU student crowd and just a wonderful night with the bands hanging together post game to watch the fireworks (first rate pyro show!)  Nine bucks per ticket with a group of 15 or more with the 110 doing their first down, second down etc tunes and seeing them at the half made it feel like a game at a neutral site.

Very good tackling by both teams, Kent's perhaps better as they held up the back and yanked the ball loose.

Highlight of the day by far was having extra food and inviting a Bobcat family nearby to help consume the extra.  A proud Mom and now even prouder Mom said watch my boy, he's number 87!!  BANG!  2 TD's and a big 4th down stretch--awesome!  Wish we could have seen his Mother's glee but they must have cleared out before we could join them in celebration.

Like others have noted, great OU crowd. The band was superb doing 3 Jason Timberlake tunes witth the usual 110 madness. I'm sorry I don't know the exact tunes because I'm old, but the reception was great and the 110 crushed it.
