2 Blocks in the back (1 kickoff and 1 punt) against Kant
Cochran caught the ball
Kent's QB fumbled just before half

Do they not at least warrant a review?

Chase had his catch reviewed and they came up with no catch?

I'm old but one of the officials had to be called out of retirement.

JOKE

No, it is called MAC refs. It has been like this for years. That is why they are not usually asked to ref bowl games is my guess. Truly a missed call and they even reviewed it....Let's be thankful we came out with a win with 4 fumbles in the second half!

MAC has Bowl crews every year.

I think college football has been a joke for about the last 10 years.  These power conferences have ruined the entire game.

And the first down that wasn't.  Even with replay they get it wrong.

The bad officiating really hurt us tonight. As if we didn't already have enough problems

They are still MAC refs and why they do not get invited to ref bowl games. They usually miss a few calls per game and have cost a few games over the years. That call on Cochran being an incomplete pass was ridiculous.

Why do you repeat an error that BTC corrected a few posts ago? MAC refs do bowl games every year and the announcers almost always tell you at some time during the game which conference the officials are from.

IMHO, while we've got a few really bad apples (4 yard line safety), overall our MAC refs are pretty good.  Usually in bowls games they send kind of an all-star crew.  Some MAC officials also officiate in B1G games, so it's hard to make a blanket statement condemning all MAC officials with one brush.

I think the most impressive stat of the game was ZERO penalties on Ohio's offense or defense the whole game. I think that's unheard of for the first game of the season.

I couldn't remember any penalties during the game...had to re-watch on ESPN3 replay to remember it was off-sides on the 2nd TD kickoff.  First kickoff was out the back of the endzone for a touch back.  Re-kick resulted in a tackle at the 20 anyways.  Hopefully that discipline plays out the rest of the year.  Nice job getting the plays in without any delays or needing to call TO like we've seen in the past.

All in all, a great first game showing from O, D, and special teams.  Great complete team effort that looks like it will be fun to get behind for a few years.

I still can't get over the call last year in Buffalo where Tyler was on the 14 yard line and they called it a safety.

Why doesn't anyone ever talk about Northern Michigan.  They get no respect.

Edit: There really is a Northern Michigan and they actually have a football team.

The officials threw one flag on Ohio. Too much?
