I'd like to see our QB find a way to force their offense to punt more than 3 times. And when we do force them to punt I'd like to see our QB make sure that some fat kid doesn't take a direct snap and run for a 60yd TD. If he could do those thing I would appreciate it.

Kent punted twice in the first half against us last year. Kent did not punt in the second half. Look at the OHIO drive summary table below. Our QB's inability to keep OUr offense on the field hung OUr defense out to dry.

we forced them to punt 3 times, they chose to punt twice and run a fake punt with Fatty McTouchdown once.

I wasn't arguing about the number of times Kent punted. Kent indisputably punted twice.

I wasn't arguing about when Kent has the choice to punt. The choice always belongs to them; we can only discourage the choice to not punt.

I wasn't arguing about who to blame for allowing a touchdown on a fake punt. Whether or not we foiled their punt fake, it was the special teams unit that should be judged, not our defense.

I was arguing because of the allusion I perceived; your allusion that our starting QB had no significant impact on the opposing offense.

I guess we didn't really force them to punt because they didn't punt three times. We held them to under 10 yards in 3 plays so they didn't get a first down so they ran from a punt formation, but we didn't force them to punt. Get it?

Run the ball...stop the run...win the game.  Said already here many times, but feel this is paramount tonight.

I see this game going the way of the State Penn game initially, but with OHIO wearing Kant's emotions down earlier than we did the Lyins.  Several six minute drives for the Cats in this one break their backs.

37-10 OHIO.

It's been a long time since an Ohio offense had so many question marks. Can they run the ball? Can a thin O-Line hold up?
Nervous yet positive about the day. I honestly think Vick surprises today and has a balanced outing.

In looking at the previews on Kent, I see that both of their OT's return but the interior of their line is new. That makes me think they may be more capable of stopping our pash rush from our star ends than I first thought. I hope that the youth on the interior of their line means we can stop the run better than last year. Stopping the run on defense is the one concern I have with this group... With so many in our front 7 back, I gotta think we will be better there.

+1.

It is truly this simple. Need Vick to be a dual threat like TT in his heyday.

He's been hurt for quite a while, didn't play in the last scrimmage I think

I guess I need to pay closer attention. I've never liked reading our injury threads.

I have a good feeling about today's game. Think our defense puts on a nice display and forces a couple of turnovers.

Bobcats take out a lot of frustration from last year and previous Kent games . . . Ohio rolls . . .

45-10

Go OHIO!

Edit: I further predict the most balanced running vs. passing game in years.

I don't think he's practiced all fall. I think it's a shoulder injury. There was speculation on the thread about Wood that he might be out for the entire season. He doesn't have a redshirt year left, so I would expect that he will return at some point, if possible.

A blue collar guy who can lead a team in tackles. He will be missed. Big shoes to fill. Glad he is being held out to heal up. Would rather have him in November, if possible. Ben, God bless, get well soon.

So who plays in the middle? Brown? Maybe Johnson, Moore and Brown start.

I found out through Jeremy Guy as I was complaining about the TWC issue. I have DirecTV and AT&T for internet so I get blacked out. But the games were available free on MAC-Sports.com. I think I had it on all the game threads last year. Definitely for basketball.

Unfortunately Internet Nebraska has botched my switch to them, and I just got off the phone with them, and while they have promised me that they will have it done by next week, I am out of luck for this week. As a result, I still have no access to ESPN3 because I still have Time Warner. I just went to MAC-Sports.com, and tried to watch the game, but it kicks you back to log in to ESPN3, where you have to have a cable subscription.

I do not see that you can watch the games free on MAC-Sports. If you can, how do you do it? Am I stuck trying to watch via things like those European sites?

Grillot, a walkon former Safety, is listed as the backup MLB.

I don't think you can. I'm improvising this week myself, until I can finally sort out what I need to do to get it to work.

ESPN botched this big time. It's not just us....lots of people who are supposed to be able to use WatchESPN are apparently not able to.

RS frosh Quentin Poling will start at MLB; true frosh Jake Pruehs will start at RG, and Nathan Carpenter fills in at safety

You can risk frontrowsports.me, but make sure you have a good anti-virus. No feed there, sorry.
