I am skipping Huntington this year. It is a 6 hour trip so I usually stay in the Holiday Inn Express
downtown. I am not going to miss the following:

Getting my car keyed.

Having a Marshall fan challenge me to a fight in the stands.

Riding a bus to the stadium full of drunks.

No where to go after the game where I feel safe.

Marshall fans trying to make this petty rivalry into more than it really is.

No one has... especially considering no one uses the bus for gameday.

I stand by what I said.

I've had none of the Huntington type behavior in Louisville, Lexington, Muncie, Kent, State College, Northwestern, Akron, BG, Oxford or any of the over venues I travel to with our Bobcats. It is just town in which I am not comfortable. Call me a liar but I am watching on TV this time.
I am for one glad we are dropping Marshall from our schedule.

Never had an experience anything like what you describe in Huntington. Whenever I've been there for an Ohio game, all decked out in OHIO gear, I always get a nice welcome -- even more so than when I go there wearing Marshall gear for games against other opponents. The worst experience I ever had at Marshall was when we were there for a MACC game, rooting for Marshall against WMU, I think it was, and we had a row of drunk students behind us. They didn't cause any physical harm, but did make a real nuisance of themselves. I suspect on any given Saturday you could experience the same thing on the student side at Peden.

You are just one of those people obviously. Like the snarky old bith at a steak house that complains that her steak is slightly overcooked when she asks for well done, then she gets it for free and complains that yu should pay her. Cant make them happy.

And the series isnt discontinued. Youll be back in huntington in 2019, after our trip to athens next season.

Anyway, there is a bad apple in every fanbase, but the crap you are spewing about our fanbase just seems unbelievable to me.... you must have mistaken morgantown for huntington.

The funny thing is the worst experience I have had with OU students was at the Joan. A couple were a row behind me in the student section and started to vomit during the national anthem. Some splattered on my leg but the only thing I could think was "I thought they were a party school?"

You're assuming that they started the day of the game. What probably happened is they were still going from Friday night...

I've been known to go a little too far (last years miami game) but I have never thrown up...only bummed some kettle corn from a nice old lady in front of me (I paid her back lol). I can say I have never puked in a stadium though lol

Again, to reprise the same old tired arguments we go through every time we play each other...I have never had a bad experience as a fan in Huntington. Not saying others haven't, so I can only speak for myself. I've been around these games for a long, long time, and I've always been treated well in Huntington on game days. Welcomed into MU fan tailgates, etc. Never felt unsafe before or after games.

I did sit close to a very loud, obnoxious MU fan in the 24-23 Herd win a few years ago...but I was able to move elsewhere. And we definitely have those kind of characters in the Ohio fanbase.

I find Jeff's reason and wisdom to be distracting me from building up the hate in my heart for Marshall football that I so desperately need to function.

Sorry you had a bad time in Huntington. I hope you can read the below article from the Ohio U players. The Ohio U players compared the visit to Marshall to the money game OU plays on the road each year.

ATHENS OHIO TODAY: Bobcats anticipate roaring good time at the Joan

That Messenger article is probably closer to reflecting the thoughts of Ohio's fan base than a few negative posts on here.

There you go again goherd25 with your bull. Who are you to call somebody on this forum a liar. YOU'RE THE LIAR. ytownbobcat no doubt has a good point to make. I'm not saying that all Marshall fans are bad sports and obnoxious loud mouth fans but some DEFINITELY ARE! And your replies on this forum indicate that YOU ARE DEFINITELY ONE OF THEM. The ONLY place that I've experienced bad fans was at Marshall when they bad mouthed our school, our players, our fans, our stadium and our town - Athens.

I've got a good feeling boys . I believe marshall is the better team this year but when a teams got your number they aren't to be taken lightly ! Ohio shocks a lot of people (not me) with a 34-24 win making Cato 0-4 vs OHIO . Let's go cats don't make me look stupid! Also I wonder what the excuse marshall fans will have this year when Ohio wins .
