Mid third quarter and we have the ball near their 40 on third and short and we run a qb draw? (Doesn't get the first, of course.)
It's getting a little frustrating to have no pass rush and see all their receivers open and Sprague appears to have no one to throw to.
First, our O-coordinator has to be fired.
That direct snap to Ouellette for the TD. Great call. But we don't save that for a more stiff opponent. Oh; we may be on the way to dropping this game.

What, you don't like two runs from first and 10 at the 7? Ugh.

Our play calling is horrible! 1st and goal and the only difference is Beau is not taking the hand off from Tettleton. Same calls just different players!!! Ugh

I'm usually the last guy on the pig pile, but I have to agree. Horrible play calling, and the dude's gotta go.

How about that flanker screen on third and goal from about the five?
Seems to me that play has little chance on a short field, that it's just going to draw a lot of defenders over there seeing what the receiver and blocker(s) are doing. We immediately threw it, denying Sprague a chance to stand in the pocket and find someone open.
Does anyone ever run that play in that situation. I thought it was a HORRIBLE call.
In contrast, the flip to OUellette to try to have him throw for the last td was an excellent call. Even if it hadn't worked (which it did when he ran it in), we finally ran something that the D could not have been prepared for.
We need something different, a different scheme on offense. How did their qb have so much time to pass and so many open receivers for the most part when we knew they'd pass most of the time...but we so much make big plays in the middle of the field but can't get it in the end zone.
With Cochran, Smith, Cope, Walker, etc at receiver, it's interesting that we aren't more effective passing.
Either starting running a better offense or get someone who will.

Playcalling absolutely got stale in the 2nd half. It seemed like we were consistently running on 1st & 2nd down with Ouellette and that was getting stopped.
When his helmet came off and he got a break, that was crucial. I liked giving him a heavy load today but you gotta give the D different personnel looks from time to time.
Also I'm not loving the usage of Daz. The fumbles are worrisome but I don't think he should be treated as a full time RB. Instead, put him in motion as a wing, run some jet sweeps, and use him in the passing game. Now he does have pass catching issues too, so that's not a surefire solution. Real exciting to see how great Ouellette looked though.

Agree: Daz=Sproles
Not an every down back. Plain as the nose on anyone's face.

This is kinda just a hunch from seeing Walker run.
Dude is quite fast and there should be a way to make him a game-breaker, playmaker. Just seems to have exceptional speed.
Oughta try to get him the ball.

Are we trying to save a RS for Walker?
I'm a little bit out of day-to-day stuff around here.

They were going to play Papi White and redshirt Walker, but after White tore his MCL they reversed the plan.
