Wideout true Freshman Lewis--the one that got away, oh my!

BG at breakneck speed with the number of plays. QB in shotgun, under center. Guys getting open deep QB cannot hit them but play design and calling has given BG a chance to compete.

Lewis good. But BG defense not so good, though Badger has a good running back.

BG scores in the fourth, and now it is 65-17, ouch.

BG had an outstanding defense last year. I never would have expected this. They gave up 708 yards to W.Ky, 582 yards to Indiana in a win, and another 700 yards today.

The MAC isn't doing well early on. EMU lost to MSU 73-14 (not unexpected); Terd leads at Akron 31-3 at the half; Buffalo and 1AA Norfolk are 7-7 at Buffalo early in the 1st Q.

They are pulling away, now, but still, that's their second 1AA this year. They managed to nip Duqesne earlier this year after trailing them 28-24 early in the fourth. With two FCS teams, it will be harder for them to become bowl eligible this year.

I read somewhere EMU had 1 yard of offense at the half... That worked out to about 1.44 inches per play.

Same for BSU. They beat 1AA Colgate but lost to 1AA Indiana St. They look like they're on their way to 1-3 and will need to win six of their last eight to get bowl eligible (with two 1AAs they'll need to win seven).

On another note, Ohio was the only MAC team to score a win vs a 1A OOC opponent this week.

With NIU getting pulverized by Arky, it looks like ECU and T'erd are the odds-on favorites to get the big bowl bid for G5 champs this year. ECU looked very impressive vs UNC this week (70-41, and it really wasn't as close as the final score indicated).
