The A/V in Peden is completely inadequate.

I'd be happy if we got the A part solid before we worry too much about the V. There seems to be no balance to it. When it's quiet the PA system seems deafening and when there is ambient noise, it gets drowned out. It's weird. Consequently, I'm still trying to figure out who is sponsoring first downs??

This is one of those areas where I absolutely believe that bigger is better.

With that said, technology in this area has come SO far the last decade, even a video board x2 as big as the current one that included modern tech would be 1000x more effective.

I'm hoping x5 as big on the hill with modern tech... If we drum up the cash for a Jerry Jones board, lets do it.

I agree with you until the last statement. No need to pay for the biggest TV you can find if you still live in a trailer.

A video screen as tall and wide as the total current scoreboard is satisfactory for me.

We also need to move the game clock from below the scoreboard to atop. With our crowds overflowing to Victory Hill a couple times a year, it is sometimes impossible to see that clock. That has to be detrimental to a team driving towards the south end zone, and could really hinder clock management to end a half. I don't know why this has yet to be fixed.

My Jerry Jones fantasy includes major upgrades to the trailer. The nicest double wide this side of Huntington.

...

In all seriousness, the scoreboard stays on Victory Hill, right? The academic center patio is on the roof there?

You have to be careful with those big screens:

I'm in agreement - get some audio coming from the sidelines and north end before we worry about a big fancy video board. I'd also rank improved concessions and restrooms ahead of a video board in Peden.

Beyond that, I'd rank improved audio/video within The Convo ahead of a video board in Peden, for the sole fact that it's a more used building than Peden is.

I think they should instead move a massive one way mirror in front of the student side so it looks full the whole game on TV

Jerry Jones board is x115 times the size of the one in Peden Stadium. Its about the size of two regulation basketball courts. Its too big for the endzone in Peden.

There is plan to get naming rights for Peden and The Convo right? You would expect that any sponsor is going to want their name on the Video Board. Money earned from naming rights can then go to upgrading the video scoreboards and to increasing the amount of advertising space in the stadium. I would like to see the MAC scores prominently displayed on the sides with other conferences every 15 minutes.

Toledo's new board is 15 times the size of the one in Peden. Its 50 feet long and 30 feet wide (3+ stories). 50'x 20' would be a decent size for Peden (10 times the current dimensions).

Should we consider a larger cannon?

As anemic as the offense has been this season, I think any cannon funds should be spent on making sure it doesn't get rusty from sitting idle for long periods of time.

I have a couple speakers I'm not using and some speaker wire laying around. Tonight I will sneak into Peden and splice into the system and put the speakers onto the North wall.

I agree with the comment about a new video board being the the same size as the current scoreboard. I would also raise it so its not obstructed by people on the hill side. The technology is awesome on these new video boards. You would not need a separate clock the video board its self should be able to display a camera view picture of the game, stats along with the clock down timeouts and so on. Between downs the entire image can show a full size replay.

You know after looking at this image maybe it need to be just a little bigger too.

Did we buy those speakers/stacks at the Neil Young "Rust Never Sleeps" end of tour closeout sale? Huge cover casings over much smaller actual speakers?

The scoreboard setup is very improvisational with the big speakers hanging off the sides because the original mounting is way too small. It needs a big correction and they might as well reshape victory hill to match the other side of the stadium while they are it.
