I'd like to see us move the pocket on passing plays more, especially with JD at the helm, as he is smallish v DV. Create some lanes through which he can pass as opposed to asking him to throw over top of the lines.

I like this idea, D.A. I thought some of J.D.'s better plays at UK were using his feet to push up the field in the pocket and then roll out. He seemed pretty nimble that day against a good defensive front. Moving the pocket or designed rollout may make him more dangerous.

IMHO, the crux of the offense's issues right now is that Ohio has 7-8 new starters, 3 freshmen starting on the O-line, and is already down to its 2nd string QB. Oh, and all this while facing both a rising SEC team and a Top 25-30 team on the road. And they've only played 4 games.

Like how watching UCLA last night when the 'nouncers mentioned that a 305 lb D-lineman has scored for them by run and pass this year as the guy was lining up as a 2nd running back out of the pistol at the ArizState goal line.

Apparently, it's illegal for teams in, or based in, Ohio to consider such.

Everyone. Please help me. I seem to recall Ohio using TEs in the H back roll to beef up for certain running situations. I don't have a tape, but, I think I remember Tyler Knight wearing out La Monroe. More than one way to skin a cat.

I thought Albin did a great job of this in the second half against Kentucky.

Last night was watching the OK State-Texas Tech game.

Tech of course runs a hurry-up offense with the QB in the shotgun. Early in the game, faced with 3rd and inches, the Tech QB moved up under center, took the snap, lunged forward and got the first down.

Just thought I would mention it as confirmation that teams that run pistol or shotgun formations do occasionally move the QB under center.

Trouble maker! (lost ability to use icons, otherwise grinning devil goes here)

bcat2--Over the last couple years or so, how many times did we use a big guy from the backfield as a lead blocker in short yardage or give the ball to the big guy to let him moose it forward for the crucial short yardage?
But you're right; anyone would point to our offense as a paragon of creativity.
