Nice win wasn't pretty for the entire 60 minutes I agree with some of the other comments play calling was horrible at times. Wasn't a perfect game but I can still see this team competing for an East title. 2-2 and most importantly 1-0 in the MAC, anyone know what the attendance was?

Give lots of credit to Idaho for playing a solid ballgame. I was pretty damn worried in the 3rd & 4th. Basically after Vick went down, it was stressful.

This isn't a team that's ready to turn in a complete/polished performance yet, so this result wasn't shocking. Still lots of issues to work out on offense. Need to find a way to be more effective in the short passing game, even though that's not exactly Solich's gameplan. I loved what I saw from Sebastian Smith today. Not a lot of Mangen today.

Athletics says it was 25,211. Probably not that far off.

That figure was not inflated. The hill was nearly as full as I have ever seen it - top 3 for sure.

Looked like a good crowd from the broadcast....until halftime hit.

Have to Idaho credit. They didn't come all that way to lay down. The play and play calling showed it.

I was very impressed with the student turn out! Even after halftime 50-75% stayed through third quarter, which I had never witnessed in my 25 years of going to bobcat games.

It is nice to see the crowds showing even with the last two weeks not going as hoped. Take care of business then win the MAC...

I have to give credit to the referees for noticing those new red uniforms of ours.

Rules question that I am sure someone has the answer for. Last night between the first and second quarters our kicker had a practice kick while on timeout. Is this allowed? I am assuming it is or someone would have complained. However I don't think I have paid any attention to it at least in the past.

If we do that against Beefs, it's a safety in their favor.

Deferring on the coin toss would be a safety in their favor.

We should start a new thread: Things Tom McCabe would call a safety.

That was one of the more insulting things a referee could say on the field. In case others missed it, on the first sideline warning, the ref said, "Sideline warning, Miami."

Thanks for reporting this. I thought that was what I heard, but nobody else around me reacted to the blunder, so I thought maybe I had heard it wrong with all the ambient crowd noise.

On another issue raised in this thread, I'll have to say I was very proud of my brethren (and sistern) on the Old Fart Side. I stood up and looked around with about 7 minutes to go in the game and there were no visible areas of empty seats. It was still full even up to the far edges of the Tower Side stands. I looked again after the insurance TD and at that point those far corners were starting to vacate but the middle sections were still full. Conclusion: Old Farts love their OHIO football!

Yes, they do. And because I stayed till the game clock showed 00.00, I didn't pull into my driveway till 1:30 a.m.
