It can certainly be very effective when a qb throws a low block in the backfield against a would-be tackler and springs the tailback for extra yards, but I can't help but get concerned when he heads downfield where he could be blindsided or otherwise clocked by a much larger defender. That said, I like that our players think with the team concept an aren't afraid to do the dirty work. I don't know what the right balance is.

Most times in life, when someone uses the word wimp or wimpy, you could substitute the word intelligent.

Next time you meet Frank Solich, ask him if they teach their quarterbacks to slide.

Or you can recommend teams play Big Dumb Tough Guy Football when the coaches who get paid millions understand how important the QB is, and take care to protect their most precious asset.
