Surpised this has not been posted yet. Looks to be a beautiful day. Parents weekend.
Bobcat Club Day. 2:00 game - plenty of time for out of town travellers to and fro (as per Me). For my son & I - We love it when there is also a hockey game after the football game (Pitt).

Ohio is about where I expected before the season. A good defense, an offense that is young, but improving, and with a lot of fight. Eastern, a year ago, would have won easily, but they are having their own struggles, with a new coach, and minus some key people. Earlier I think I said Ohio 27-17, but in this official thread, I'm going to lower my scores a little. My official guess is:
Ohio 20, EIU 10, 24,813

I predict we see the third team much of this game, which keeps the score down. It would be totally UNACCEPTABLE to win by less than three TDs. My prediction, OHIO rolls:

Ohio 45
EIU 7

Attendance: 23,107

we have a redshirt soph QB and a true freshman RB making their first ever starts and you want to give the 3rd string the bulk of the reps? um, no thanks.

Since when does "predict" mean "want"?

The Ohio offense needs to continue to improve so I doubt we load the second half with 3rd stringers. Really need a complete game by the Offense with no 3 and out series. Confidence going into the MAC schedule with 3 very important games in a row if we are going to have a chance at taking the division (@CMU, BG, Akron).

Ohio-34
EIU-10

Attendance-25,999

I don't know that we can squeeze 25,999 in Peden but I refuse to go another week with all of BA under.

I really hope we can jump out to a good lead early.

Also, while I am bummed about Vick, I am really pumped to see Sprague starting. He is elusive in the pocket which is exciting. When is the last time we had former walkons starting at QB and HB?

I would not call this a good defense because we can't stop the pass. We do okay against the run when it's expected to be a running play. We have not been able to stop the pass very well, so I'm looking to see if we can do that today. If so, we will win comfortably, otherwise we'll be in for a dogfight.

It would be hard to conclude much about the defense from this game, given the option attack that EIU was using. The defense had to focus on different things than they will in other games this year. On the whole the first team defense looked pretty good, but the second team defense gave up some drives.
