My fearless TTT predictions:

August 30
WMU at Purdue -- win WMU

Sept 6 (P5 Slayer weekend!!!!!!)
Missouri at Toledo -- Win UT
CMU at Purdue -- Win CMU
NIU at Northwestern -- Win NIU
Ohio at Kentucky -- Win OHIO

Sept 13
Indiana at BG -- Win BG
Syracuse at CMU -- Win Syracuse

Sept 20
NIU at Arkansas -- Win Arkansas
CMU at Kansas -- Win CMU

Sept 27
Akron at Pitt -- Win Pitt
Kent at Virginia -- Win Virginia

Oct 11
Toledo @ Iowa State -- Win Iowa State

MAC goes 7-5 against P5 in the L.C. highlighted  winnable game contest .  The emphasis here should be on the word "big-NAME" as some of these schools have a name but not much more.  Purdue may be the worst team in FBS football this year.  Kansas is not much better.  Two key matchups are on MAC home turf -- Mizzou at UT and Indiana at BG.  And, Indiana is only slightly better than Purdue and Kansas.  Virginia is not very good either but unfortunately Kent is in a "rebuilding year" and is not the team of two years ago that blew Rutgers out of their own stadium.

Those aren't the only games against the P5. There are many others where I don't see much hope of an upset:
BG at Wisconsin
Baylor at Buffalo
Akron at Penn State
Kent State at Ohio State
Miami at Michigan
BC at U.Mass
Colorado at U.Mass
U. Mass at Vandy
U. Mass at Penn State
Ball State at Iowa
WMU at Virginia Tech
EMU at Florida
EMU at Michigan State

1. I agree that BG-Indiana is the most likely win.
2. I see Toldedo as being 50-50 in their two games, so hopefully they will get a win as well.
3. CMU has three shots, and might get one win. I think they will be better than most expect, since they have 17 returning starters.
4. Hopefully the other games will produce another win (and especially I hope it is Ohio at Kentucky)

Thanks, L.C.  I knew that and wasn't thinking when I dashed off my predictions as I was getting ready to go out to dinner with the wife.  I've amended my prior statement accordingly. I'll further predict that in the other "not much chance" category will see at least one upset.

My upset special for the year is UMass at home over Colo.  The Buffs have been a-w-f-u-l for years and don't look to be any better this year.  UMass may be better than folks think; they were on the verge of beating some quality teams several times since joining the MAC, and Whipple is a proven winner with them.  This will also be one of their audition games for other conferences.  Plus Colo might suffer from jet lag.  BG might also surprise Wis.

If BG can get it's win, that would get us to three, but BG is a 7 point underdog right now. Maybe CMU can notch a second win - they are only a 4.5 point underdog to Syracuse. I'm still thinking the MAC can get 3-4 wins this year.

Great call, and U.Mass almost nabbed that win.

They even had the lead at the half but couldn't close it out. UMass is very much improved and has four fairly good shots at wins before hitting the November wall. Vandy's bad, so UMass could win tomorrow, even on the road. Then in October they're at Fiami and Kent and home to EMU. The rest of the schedule is just too tough.

Meanwhile, Roger Lewis has 16 catches for 149 yards and the game winning TD as BG beats Indiana. Damn, it would have been nice to have him in green and white.

Well, I got my 4 wins, and they came pretty much as expected. One more good shot left, Toledo at Iowa State for P5 win #5.
