MWDST my point is you have to be able to throw the ball effectively in college football nowadays.

Losing in Athens with a more stable roster
That's assuming a lot in the NIL/portal era.
True. But if we suck, I think we’re less likely to get raided. I don’t see Big 10 teams lining up out the door to nab Rickey Hunt or Chase Hendricks right now.

They quit against Kentucky….that wasn’t good enough for this board.

Can’t believe the clap-clap-no motion offense isn’t taking flight.

It’s possible we were holding Rourke back, btw.

In the 5+ quarters since we led 24-0 at CMU, we've been outscored 55-17.

One big difference between last week and this is that MOFO isn't beating themselves with penalties and turnovers.

And, we have two big turnovers that have resulted in touchdowns for them.

There’s an article where he said his talents weren’t being used so he was going to transfer. No doubt about that.

Go back and ready basically every post of mine from last season.

Albin’s offense is horrible. Now the talent just isn’t good enough to overcome. Burn the clock and pray is not an offense. They never play to win. They play to not lose. It worked with Rourke and Wigs despite the weak offensive outputs, bc the defense was lights out. It’s not working with Navarro and a kid from JUCO who has been here for three months.

The last time Navarro was pulled mid-game he was held out the next week because of a "soft tissue injury." Will he have another next week?

Amazingly, we’re still not out of the picture - and inexplicably I think Navarro gives us the best chance with his legs, knowledge of the playbook.

5 team log jam at 2-1.

Still have Kent, Ball State.

Buffalo, EMU still possible wins.

Toledo is an L.

How about WMU as team in the MACC? We likely wont play in the MACC without winning out

No Excuses! Miami owned us. Period. We are 7 games into this season and our offense still has not come together. I don't want to see Navarro behind center the rest of the season. Turn him into a Flex player. He can run; perhaps, he can catch, but he can't throw the ball though, especially over the middle. He's far too turnover prone and has this strange habit of freezing in the backfield as though he had suddenly become a statue. I would have sent my coaches out of the stadium at halftime in search of players for next year who are interested in playing 4 quarters of Football. It didn't seem like the coaching on the sidelines was making all that much difference to begin with. It would have been nice to see Albin get in some of the position huddles and chew some people out. Perhaps, he did, but I didn't see it. There was no real fire today that I could see, and no logical reason for this other than nobody seemed very motivated on our side of the ball that is. Miami did what they were supposed to do, why didn't we?

Stating the obvious: we don’t have the players and we don’t have the coaching

Well, if it is so obvious ColoBobcat66: why is the coaching staff of the football team getting paid and those on Bobcatattack.com getting nothing, including us not even getting a good game to watch?

It’s likely a race for 2nd.

I certainly don’t think we have the offensive firepower to keep up with WMU - they’re rolling right now. But they also are the 2nd worst defense in the league. They’ve given up 80 more points than we have. They will see NIU and that’s just about it from here on out.

I see Toledo - WMU at the end, but my point was IF we take care of business - that 2nd spot isn’t out of reach. Though Toledo pretty much only has CMU and EMU coming up. If they stumble at either one, and possibly BG in a rivalry game… door is open.

Certainly, I’m not saying OU is gonna figure it out, I’ve been mostly down on them this entire season, BUT - we are still in that log jam. Some days Navarro looks like he can make decisions and others, it looks like he wouldnt start on an intramural team. His legs and turnovers will continue to write the tale of the season.

Ask the AD. Well it’s a little complicated, but they’re probably in the lower 15%. of FCS salaries so it’s not like we have big money to pay coaches. As others have said we’re not that far from winning 10 games in 2 seasons. with the “right” players. Maybe it will happen again. Maybe we’ll have bigger money from big supporters to be competitive in the NIL world. It goes on and on.

The Ohio University Fine Arts Department just got a 25 million dollar endowment from Chaddick and Morrow. Does anyone know of any other Major donors related to Ohio University, which are into supporting athletics and who might be putting an NIL collective together?

Someone mocked me for saying it, but new Nike CEO got his Masters from OU. I wonder how much he enjoyed hi$ time?

I had hoped for a better effort. Things are so out of control. Albin says they prepare "as if it's just another game." I'm sure that is the case for players in rival games like USC-UCLA, UGA-Florida, Oregon-Oregon State, Harvard-Yale. Sure Tim - just another game. That I do not like. Another game? Ask any student-athlete up until COVID if it's just another game. It's not.

That said, they are better. Here are a few things said on the pregame show and from the announcers during the game:

34 players on our roster have never played Fiami

54 players on our roster have never played AT Fiami

Fiami's offensive line are all Seniors

Gabbert is a 6th year Senior

McDonald is a 6th year Senior and a tremendous athlete

(About 50 times) Our QB plays for IU

(About 2 times) Cross came with Rourke

This is the new MAC until this NIL and portal non-sense get under control.Sucks.

Greetings to all Bobcat fans from Middletown, Ohio, where we are staying at a hotel after witnessing the slaughter in Oxford. I don’t have much in the way of wise observations. Our vantage point in Yeager Stadium was not good. You folks watching on TV probably could see it better. But, I’m in agreement that NP should start next week in place of Navarro. He seems to have a much better arm and seems to see the whole field better. What do we have to lose?
