"Central Michigan will honor its 1974 national champion football team as its prestigious 2024 Homecoming Grand Marshals. The occasion also marks the 50th anniversary of the 1974 national championship which saw the Chippewas finish 12-1 and capture the NCAA Division II national championship. Led by fellow Hall of Fame coaches Roy Kramer (head coach) and Herb Deromedi (defensive coordinator), the title helped launch CMU Athletics as it stepped up to NCAA Division I and joined the Mid-American Conference the following year. The following link contains a detailed story on the 1974 team."

Since we've won only six games vs these guys, I don't think we've ever beaten them twice in a row. This would be a good year to get that done.

2000 and 2001. It was Knorr's only win in his inaugural campaign.

Curious what was the common denominator in those 5 victories. I know personally Kelly Shorts is one of the loudest stadiums to play in besides ours.

If we can establish a running game and some short passes, this game can be won. No turnovers type of game needs to be had.

Backup tackles appear to be getting starts. Dennison and Heidecker are both out for Saturday.

Reminder that last year's win was very exciting ended a 1-10 run. But if you look at the results the previous several were all frustrating heartbreakers.

2023 - Home Win 34-20
2021 - Home Loss 30-27
2020 - Away Loss 30-27
2017 - Home Loss 26-23
2016 - Away Loss 27-20
2014 - Away Loss 28-10
2013 - Home Loss 26-23
2011 - Away Win 43-28
2009 - Neutral Loss 20-10
2008 - Home Loss 31-28
2006 - Home Loss 31-10
2005 - Away Loss 37-10

Let's party like it's 2011. I was at that game due to some fortunate work travel...it was very cold.

I think it was 2013 when we lost as a 26 point favorite. And we had it close to won. I think TJ Carrie, a future punt returner in the NFL, muffed a punt up by 4 points with a 2 minutes left.

I don't know what the betting line was in 2008, but that was the year Boo Jackson fumbled inside the CMU 5 as we were driving for at least a tying score.

Where did you see that? In this week's notes it is Akron game 2 deep in the notes.

I think Albin confirmed that in the presser this week.

He did and it sounded like Adonis Williams will be out as well. I assume Shelby and Jones are the tackles?

That's one Ohio football loss that, for me, still stings to this day. Not a fun walk out of Peden after that one.

Me neither. A wonderful example of seizing defeat out of the jaws of victory. Very depressing even to remember it this many years later.

What happened on that deep ball caught and taken to the 3-4 yard line that from my eyes looking at a cell phone looked like a good catch? And then Tyus fumbled?

Who kicks a field goal there?. Field goals are for losers. Fourth and three on the seven.Go for it and put the game out of site. Three points only gives you 20 so three touchdowns beat you either way. If you don’t make it or do make it. Have some balls.

What was a worse phantom call?
The ohio defender interfering the CMU punt returner or the CMU defender lining up head-to-head with Ohio center on the blocked FG attempt?

A lot of ugly football in the first half. And the refs are equally guilty.

We lucked out on that block.

Has Hunt fallen to third on the depth chart? If that's so who saw that coming before the season?

I wondered what happened. I am not watching the game. Just seeing the plays on ESPN on my phone. So we scored a touchdown and not have a blocked field goal? Just resd the updated play my play. Sometimes it’s better be lucky than good.
